Mercedes R107 SL500 rebuild work

Jon refitted the distributor cap and rotor arm on our 1985 Mercedes 500SL, using the existing components as the replacement parts had not yet arrived. He reconnected the HT leads to their corresponding cylinders and started the engine, which continued to misfire. The air filter was then refitted.

MG TF Paint Repairs

Chris repaired the dent in our 1954 MG TF’s wheel arch by applying a very small amount of filler before priming the area. He then rubbed down the primer and prepared the remainder of the wheel arch for painting.

Aston Martin Flat and polish

Chris has carried out a flat and polish to perfect the finish on our 1953 Aston Martin DB2/4. The black is absolutely stunning. He then refitted components to the car in preparation for reassembly.

Sand Blasting

Tony took the floor pans and frame from our 1955 Aston Martin DB2/4 Drophead Coupé to the sand blasters to prepare them for the next stage of restoration.

Wheel well repairs

Greg continued work on our 1978 Mercedes 350SL by fitting the inner wheel wells and cutting off the outer sill in preparation for its replacement. He then fitted the new outer sill, ground down the surrounding areas.

Painting our Aston Martin

Chris painted parts of our 1955 Aston Martin DB2/4 Drophead Coupe moving the car closer to its paint completion.

Mini roof face lift

Chris prepped and primed our 1999 Rover Mini roof for paint.

Sanding

Chris continued the preparation work on our 1969 Audi 70L by sanding the polyfan to a 120-grit finish. He then reapplied the guide coat and began refining the surface further by sanding it to 180 grit, ensuring a consistent and even base for the next stages of the restoration.

Repairs

Greg built two new ground wires for our 1979 Reliant Scimitar SE6A.

Assessing and repairing

Jon assessed the customer’s list of reported concerns on our 1985 Mercedes 500SL, starting with an engine misfire. After confirming that the engine was indeed misfiring, he carried out a visual inspection of the ignition leads and related components. PDI and repairs on our Frogeye

Jon completed the pre-delivery inspection on our 1958 Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite and resolved an issue with the wipers not functioning.
