Wow, what a car! The condition of this 1966 Ford Mustang GT is simply incredible. The interior is immaculate, as is the paintwork.
Revealed to the public in 1964, the Ford Mustang would go on to become a cult classic. Each iteration provided a slightly different take on the Mustang but most enthusiasts would agree, this first generation is one of the best!

Joining the Bridge Classic Cars family early next week we have our beautiful 1976 Triumph Spitfire 1500 with overdrive, finished in Damson red.
If you are looking for a lovely tax and mot exempt spitfire then look no further, with an absolute fortune spent on maintaining her!!
The spitfire has been very well restored, looks stunning and sounds amazing. Perfect for a first classic if you are starting to feel the hunger for owning a classic as the work has already been done and it’s ready to enjoy.
The interior is a nice place to be and has a dark walnut dash and Motolita steering wheel and has the added bonus of cloth Mazda MX5 seats for comfort and long journeys. Everything works, including the overdrive in 3rd and 4th. The soft top is excellent too with a zip out rear window.
Our Spitfire is sat on new Minilite wheels with polished lips and excellent tyres which, I am sure you’ll agree, set the car off just right to give it an even sportier look.
Here is a list of new parts detailed to us by the previous owner:
Full new bell twin stainless exhaust
Stainless manifold
Full new suspension front and rear (fully adjustable)
Weber 45 carburettor
Triumphtune inlet manifold
Stainless oil catch tank
Stainless heat panels
Electronic ignition
Electric fuel pump and cut off
New minilite wheels
New 4 pot brakes
Motolita steering wheel
Radiator
Alloy rocker cover
New wipers/mirrors
Door rubbers
Burr walnut dashboard etc
That’s right. Our Eagle SS kit car has found a new home in Wales. The new owner has taken the project car back to Cardiff as a surprise for his wife.
We’re looking forward to seeing how this home restoration progresses. With most of the UK in lockdown, now seems like a great time to delve into a home restoration.
Wow, we’ve hit 2,000 ‘Likes’ on Facebook! the whole team at Bridge Classic Cars wishes to thank you for your support. We’re really proud of the community we have here at Bridge Classic Cars and we would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who has supported us over the years.
More pictures have arrived to us from the body shop that is currently working on the Triumph TR5 body shell.
The project came to us as an unfinished restoration with key components already elsewhere being worked on so we working in conjunction with other companies on this build.
As you can see from previous posts, we have built the chassis up ready so once the shell is complete and in colour we will look to take delivery and then we can continue on with the rebuild in our workshops.
We’ve been sent some progress photos from the bodyshop preparing the TR5. Please note, this work is being carried out by another company as the restoration was already underway at the stage we were brought on-board.
Mike Colyer has shared some wonderful photos of his MGA in it’s prime. We’re well underway restoring this wonderful classic. Soon it will be ready for many more photoshoots, looking just as good if not better than when it first rolled off the production line in 1960. We love seeing photos like this, do keep sending in images of your pride and joy.
The launch of Bridge Classic Cars Competitions has featured in Classic Car weekly.
Our story begins with one of our Classic Car Technician’s, Mauro.

George Clooney and his friend Rande Gerber hit the open road in their classic sports cars
George Clooney and his friend Rande Gerber took out their classic sports cars for a drive around Los Angeles. George rode what looked like a classic Porsche Roadster, while Rande drove a Corvette.
We have been notified of a wonderful restoration opportunity, an Alvis Speed 20 that is currently in storage in Suffolk. As you can see, the car requires a full rebuild but is the foundations of being an incredible classic once complete.
This could be in our workshops in the future, we’ll see.

Our 1962 TVR Grantura Racecar and our 1993 Mini Rio have both left the showroom this week.
Our gorgeous collectable classic Grantura was registered to TVR in 1962. BEM 885 was raced with an MGA engine until the engine failed. It was taken back to TVRโs factory and changed to a sunbeam rapier engine that is still in place to this day. We are delighted to hear the new owner plans to restore and race the vehicle.
Originally adorned in the TVR race colours of white with blue stripes. Itโs been painted different colours over the years and is now in a lovely deep claret.
BEM885 was raced very successfully in the early 60s, initially by Arne Lambe and W R Bennet. It was later hill climbed by Geoff Taylor. It was regularly seen in the early 80s at Prescott when it was owned by Douglas Mainstone and once restored, will grace the racetrack once more.
The 1993 Mini Rio is a lovely little classic with tonnes of potential. It is uneconomical for us to restore, however it perfectly suits a home restoration. And that is exactly whatโs in store for this lovely mini. A father and son team from Cambridgeshire will be embarking on this project. We cannot wait to hear how they get on giving this Mini a new lease of life.

All of the team at Bridge Classic Cars wish to pay tribute to racing legend Sir Stirling Moss who has passed away age 90. In his racing career between 1948 to 1962, he won 212 of the 529 races he entered. One of Britains most loved racing drivers, Sir Stirling was famously quoted saying “Better to lose honourably in a British car than win in a foreign oneโ. A true gentleman on and off the racetrack, Stirling Moss will be sadly missed by the entire automotive community.
Another beautiful classic car has left the Bridge Classic Cars showroom. This gorgeous 1980 Mercedes-Benz 280SL has now found a new home. This 280 SL was built during a golden era for Mercedes-Benzโs, itโs 2.8l straight six engine and sumptuously smooth ride is sure to put a smile on your face with every drive.
The story behind Bridge Classic Cars Competitions has just been featured in Suffolk Magazine.

The Fiat 850 Spider is going to return to itโs former glory. To make her fully roadworthy the engine will need some attention to get running perfectly. The brakes would need recommissioning and aย full service should see her ready for a MOT.

The very same customer has a wonderful Citroen DS23 that will hopefully be entering the workshop when we are able to reopen. This vehicle needs similar treatment to our Fiat 850 Spider to pass a MOT.

HISTORY AND OWNERSHIP
I bought this beauty as my first car on 17th June 1970, from a friend who in 1975 bought it back from me.
In 1980, as my best man, he drove me to my wedding in it.
Subsequently, around 1985, he gave the car to his wife as part of their divorce settlement.
This lady happened to be a childhood friend (Les) from the age of 12 and in 2019 I tracked the car down to her new address in Shropshire, where it had lain in a barn for 28 years.
As a member of Porsche Club GB, in March 2019 I attended an Open Day at Bridge Classic Cars, Woodbridge, Suffolk. I was highly impressed with their operation and discussed the possibilities of restoring the MGA. Resulting from this, I contacted Les and bought it back from her at the agreed price.
The original intention was to re-commission the car to roadworthiness. HOWEVER, as the inspection and dismantlement progressed, the only option was to be a total restoration. As the owner of Bridge Classic put it, my car was: โA perfect example of hidden secretsโ!
At the time of writing, the car is 80% finished to Concours condition.ย

Chris has been working hard in the paint shop recently. He’s been working on our Jensen 541 R restoration. The car has now been painted in filler primer and masked up. The doors have been painted with an extra step of filler primer as they are aluminium. Now the body is in final primer and has been fully sanded and smoothed. As soon as our workshops reopen we will be ready for the very exciting colour coat phases of painting.
Great work, Chris.
Dave, one of Bridge Classic Cars’ skilled Classic Car Technicians has custom fabricted mounting bracket for our Sabelt racing seatbelt setup.
He’s fabricated the centre seatbelt point for the three point seatbelt harness and mounted the seatbelt point to the chassis. Wonderful work, Dave.
