Our 1968 Morris Minor 1000 Pick-Up arrived at the Bridge Classic Cars workshop yesterday afternoon.
Now that it is here, our team of technicians will thoroughly inspect and assess this beautiful classic before it eventually goes live on Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
Classic car technician Jonn has continued his work on our 1970 Lotus Europa in preparation for it to be won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions very soon.
After working out where he was going to route the choke cable and how it would operate, Jonn drilled the dash route cable and secured it in the dash. He then connected it at the carburettor end and tested it.
The electric window switches were fitted to the centre console and wired in as Jonn refitted it. He then cable-tied the DLC cable up under the dash, refitted all trims and cleaned everything up.
The wiring to the offside door in the kick panel area was fitted along with grommets to the jacking holes in each sill. Jonn finally tightened the water hoses at the rear of the engine.
The doors of our 1953 Land Rover Series 1, which is currently live on Bridge Classic Cars Competitions, have been in the paintshop with technician Chris.
He has been rubbing the doors down before masking them up ready for epoxy primer to be applied. Once this was done, Chris painted the doors a matching green.
Classic car technician Jonn has been carrying out a further inspection of our 1970 Lotus Europa and carrying out any repairs that were needed.
He drilled out the broken boot striker plate and flattened it before re-riveting it to the boot lid and fitting new screws to catch and secure. Upon testing, the boot locks work as expected.
Jonn then went on to tighten the front suspension bolts before greasing all points. He then stripped the brakes and cleaned and checked them. He then delipped the drums, refitted and adjusted them. Once the wheels were re-fitted and torqued up, all the tyres were pumped up, including the spare.
The connections to the horn were repaired and new rear light lenses were fitted. Jonn investigated why the reverse lights were not working and, after tracing back to the loom, he was unable to find reverse light wires from the loom and the gearbox doesn’t have a reverse light switch anywhere.
Jonn then looked at the choke cable fitment and routing and ordered a long cable. The nearside door panel was removed to find out why the passenger door didn’t lock via the key. Jonn freed the locking mechanism and worked it back and forth. He tried to lock the car with the key and it now locks.
The fuel tank was drained and the return hose was replaced with new clips. The tank was then refilled and checked for leaks – none were seen.
Our 1968 Jaguar E-type is getting close to being ready to be delivered to its new owner, who was lucky enough to win this incredible classic through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
Before it leaves us though, classic car technician Steve has been making sure everything is as it should be.
While Steve was working on the car, he noticed a rattle coming from the front end. After investigating, he removed the nearside headlamp and indicator to access the loose bolt on the electrical junction box which was the cause of the rattle.
There aren’t many more iconic vehicles than a Land Rover, and this one is an incredible example that will make someone very happy when it is won on 17th October.
Before our 1991 Ford Escort RS Turbo went out to Bentwaters with Molly and the team for filming, classic car technician Jonn took a look at it to make sure everything was how it should be.
During his inspection, Jonn noticed that the header tank mount was pulled out of the wing. A new fixing for the header tank was fitted, tightened, and secured.
Jonn did a thorough inspection of the car and made some more repairs, when needed, such as stripping and fitting a new cambelt and water pump, as well as replenishing the anti-freeze. Additionally, Jonn aligned the steering wheel to ensure it was completely ready for its new owner to jump into the driver’s seat and get on the road.
This is an exciting addition to the Bridge Classic Cars Competitions lineup and we are very much looking forward to launching it very soon!
The Bridge Classic Cars paintshop has been the home of our 2010 Land Rover Defender for the last few days. During its stay, classic car technician Chris has been repairing some areas of the paintwork.
In addition to some of these repairs, Chris also painted the chequer plates and made a new step to help get in and out of the vehicle. The front bumper was also improved and, as you can see from the photos below, our Defender is already looking great.

We have recently welcomed our 1971 Morgan Plus Four into the Bridge Classic Cars workshop.
This will join our ever-growing collection of competition cars for Bridge Classic Cars Competitions, once it has gone through its initial workshop inspection and assessment.
The last Morgan competition car proved to be very popular so we are looking forward to giving you another opportunity to win one equally as beautiful.
One of the purchases made at auction this week was our 1953 Land Rover Series 1. Once it has gone through its workshop inspection, it will go on to be offered as a prize through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
This particular Series I 86’’ is presented in the ever-popular Green and was subject to a full restoration between June 2016 and July 2017. It was restored by Fisher Restoration at a cost of more than £30,000.
As you can see from the images below, this is a fantastic-looking Land Rover and it will make its lucky new owner (whoever that may be) very happy.
This morning, the lucky winner of our 1958 Austin-Healey ‘Frogeye’ Sprite was found in our live draw from The Atelier at Bridge Classic Cars.
Live draws are always exciting and this one was no different. The photos below will give you a small glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes when we find the winner of another classic car.
Our 1957 Austin-Healey 100-6 has been with Bridge Classic Cars workshop manager, John as he resolves a few issues with the vehicle before it goes live on Bridge Classic Cars Competitions in the very near future.
As you can see from the photos below, John has been working on various components in preparation for it to be won.
Back on 22nd August, Robert Alfonso won our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 when his ticket number 878 was randomly drawn as the winner.
As our E-Type sold out in just a couple of weeks, it was drawn much earlier than scheduled. The live draw was actually meant to take place this past Tuesday (12th September). As it sold out so early, the car wasn’t quite finished and ready to go.
However, we didn’t want to make Robert wait any longer before he got to see his very own E-Type so we invited him to the workshop so he could see it for himself.
Robert spent a couple of hours with the team here, not only admiring the new addition to his garage but also the other stunning classic cars we are currently working on. He even got a short drive with Bridge Classic Cars Director, Gordon too.
As you can see from the photos below, it was a great visit and we are very much looking forward to our E-Type leaving the workshop and being delivered to its new home.
Our 1979 Ford Escort MK2 has been going through its initial inspection with classic car technician Jonn.
During the inspection, Jonn fixed a locking issue on the nearside rear door. The horn connection was cleaned before the interior was striped so Jonn could resolve an issue with the reverse light wiring. New wiring was installed from the gearbox to the reverse lights and a new exhaust heatshield was also fitted.
Once he has finished assessing the vehicle, we will be able to put together a plan of action for getting it live on Bridge Classic Cars Competitions in the very near future.

Classic car technician Jonn has been continuing his work to get our 2020 AK 427 ready to go live on Bridge Classic Cars Competitions very soon.
Jonn fitted a new sump gasket and torqued the sump to 12nm. He then checked the vacuum pressure cooling system, with it steadily holding pressure, indicating no loss of vacuum and, therefore, no leaks.
The white screw on the number plate was swapped for a black one before the car was run up to temperature where all the gauges were reading fine and within specifications.
Our AK 427 is now almost ready to be won by its lucky new owner.

Our stunning 1970 Ford Cortina MK2 1600 GT is back and will soon be going live one more time on the Bridge Classic Cars Competitions website.
It actually never really left us, although it was won a little while ago. Unfortunately, the lucky winner had some car trouble with his daily vehicle so asked if we would be interested in buying the vehicle back. He was a big Cortina enthusiast so it certainly wasn’t an easy decision for him to make. However, it was an easy one for us as we loved the car so added it to our personal collection.
After much deliberation, it has been decided that our Cortina will be available to win again very soon. This means that you have one more chance to become the proud owner of this beautifully restored nostalgic classic.
Before it goes live though, classic car technician Jonn has been giving it a checkover. While doing so, he fitted a new distributor, before test driving.

Classic car technician Jonn has continued his work on our 1957 Austin-Healey 100-6 as it will soon be available to win through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
After finishing some diagnostic work, Jonn fitted a new nut to the drag link ball joint on the offside of the vehicle. Once this was done, both ends were checked and were found to be secure.
As well as some work on the suspension, Jonn also noticed that the flexi brake hose has been rubbing. Workshop Manager John was also working on our classic Austin Healey as he was rectifying an electrical issue.
Our 2020 AK 427 has been in the care of classic car technician Jonn as he has begun his work to get it ready to be won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
During Jonn’s initial inspection, he noticed that the sump gasket was split and weeping. This was due to it being overtightened, so this was something Jonn resolved. The top hose was modified before a new J hose was modified and installed.
Another issue to be resolved is the alternator support bracket rubbing the water pump pulley. Chris from the paintshop also came through to the main workshop to check the paint colour ready for some paint repairs to be made.
Classic car technician Jonn has been inspecting and assessing our new arrival, our 2020 AK 427. As this will eventually be won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions, he wanted to make sure it was on its way to being ready for its future new owner.
While inspecting the eye-catching car, Jonn tested the battery and found it to be working as it should. Monty stepped in to help Jonn out by making a new lower radiator hose which Jonn then fitted and secured in place.
The inspection of our 2020 AK 427 will continue with any other issues being rectified before it is won very soon.
