Our MGB has transition to the luxurious Evans water for its engine which is waterless coolant to accompany the new water pipe. We first need to drain and flush the system with engine flush and then top it up with Evans coolant. We’re also waiting on a new battery isolator switch to arrive so we can fit that.
We’ve been working on the engine for this MG B V8 and now the rest of the car has finally come in for us to fit the engine.

Scott has carried out a service on our MG TD and found that it only needs its rear left wheel cylinder replacing as it was leaking. Other than that, its had the normal checks, oil changed and been re-greased so once the wheel cylinder is replaced, its good to go again!

Our 1971 MG Midget has been completed and sent back off. We replaced the faulty distributer cap and set up the timing for the carburettors and points gap. We then road tested it and found it ran perfectly.
Receiving letters like the one below is what makes all our hard work even more worth it. We took on Mike’s lovely 1960 MG A in 2019 as a barn find. In just over a year, we restored it back to its original beauty. Hearing Mike’s story is a treasured reminder of how each and every classic car comes full of fond memories and stories, and it’s our job to keep these vehicles going so they can collect more stories.
The letter reads:
Dear Gordon and Craig,
There are few things in life more gratifying than to sit behind the wheel of your first car, 50 years later and to experience once again the thrill of a 19 year old!
In little over a year, you have transformed my MGA from a wreck into a beautiful machine. I appreciate very much the work you have done for me.

Pete has been working on our beautiful classic 1951 MG TD. Pete has just finished fitted the new steering rack into the car. ‘The steering rack presented a few challenges”, Pete explains. “Due to the length of rack, I’ve had to dismantle the rack before installation. Once it’s in position it can then be re-assembled”. Superb ingenuity Pete! Working on cars of this era presents many challenges. But no job is too daunting for our expert team!
After completing the steering rack, Pete has installed a brand new stainless steel exhaust. The new exhaust sounds lovely, we cannot wait to hear what the vehicles owner thinks!

A new member to the team, Adam brings with him a wealth of experience as an automotive electrician. There’s not job too big or too small for our team of experts!

Our 1972 MG Midget has come to us this week for a very quick pit-stop to change her tyres. Her owner bought her new tyres from our good friends at vintage tyres who got in touch with us to fit them.
Classic cars will often require more specialist equipment to change their tyres, which we at Bridge are happy to source.
Our engine expert Ady also checked the carburettors and found that one side was sucking harder than the other, causing an imbalance.
So after a quick pit-stop and a cup of tea – she’s off! Back on the road again. Happy driving little MG!
These two beauties will soon be joining us here at Bridge Classic Cars.
On the left we have our speedy 1967 Trident Venturer and on the right, it’s our lovely 1951 MG TD.
The trident is coming to us for a sympathetic restoration. It’s going to have a respray and although we’re not fibreglass experts here, because we’ve dealt with lots of Jensens over the years, we’ve become quite accustomed to paintwork on fibreglass.
The MG TD is coming to us for a full service, so we can iron out any issues and ensure she’s good to continue her travels.
We’re looking forward to welcoming them both, but which of these red classics would you choose?
Our classic car Technician Dave has repaired a couple of damaged driveshafts on our lovely 1947 MG TC.
“Originally, the car came in with differential problems” explains Dave, “but once the differential had a complete overhaul we realised then that the driveshafts were all twisted.”
Dave’s now replaced two of the four driveshafts and the car is back to full working order. Top work Dave!
Paul has been busy installing new components into our 1960 MG A’s engine bay. Paul has fitted the brake master cylinder, windscreen wiper motor, windscreen wiper reservoir, front wiring loom and the bulkhead chrome.
Pete has been working on a few repairs to our lovely little 1980 MG Midget.
It needed new brake cylinders and brake shoes which have now been fitted. There was also an issue with the clutch that needed attention. Pete diagnosed a faulty clutch slave cylinder and has now fitted a new slave cylinder.
This vehicle will soon be available for purchase from ourselves. It certainly isn’t a pristine vehicle, but this little MG is a lovely, usable classic car with a whole load of bang-for-your-buck summer driving fun to be had!
Chris has done a wonderful job on this MGA full respray. We’ve used a colour match to replicate the MGA’s original factory colour. This stunning red really is lovely. Now the body is back in our workshop, Paul can continue work on the mechanical restoration of this lovely 60s Classic. Great work, Team!
Chris is now so close to completing the paintwork on our 1960 MGA. All of the panels and main body have now been painted and cured. Chris will fit up the panels onto the car before giving her a good polish. Stay tuned to see the fully assembled rolling chassis back in the workshop soon for it’s restoration to continue.

We picked up this lovely little MG Midget earlier this week. While in her current state she won’t be winning any beauty padgents, this solid little MG will be treated to some paintwork repairs in our paint shop.
This 1980 MG Midget wis a lovely summer sports car. A truly usable classic that won’t let you down.
Chris has been working hard getting our MGA body prepared and painted. After bracing and repairing any rust patches in the metalwork, he moved onto preparing the bodywork for paint.
The underside was the first part of the vehicle to be painted. Interestingly, the underside of the body is painted in coloured Raptor. Raptor is a protective coating that provides a barrier, reducing the chances of rust appearing in the future. It still delivers a perfect colour match to the regular paint, however, it has all the protective qualities to prevent the underside from corrosion.
Once the shell has been baked off, Chris will flip the body over and move onto painting the topside. Great work, Chris!
