Congratulations to Kevin Wild, winner of the 1978 MG Midget
Winner: Kevin WIld
Ticket No: 9680
The Live Draw for this competition was held on Thursday 9th January 2025.
Our 1978 MG Midget is finished in the factory-original Tahiti Blue paint with a Black interior and matching Black hood and tonneau cover. In the first decade of its life, our Midget passed through five owners before being acquired by its previous owner in 1988. At this point, it had covered 43,000 miles and now, more than 30 years later, 74,500 miles are showing on the clock.
During its previous, multi-decade ownership, our Midget has been well maintained. It had a full engine overhaul, with key upgrades such as an unleaded cylinder head, new piston rings, big end bearings, timing chain, and the addition of a Ken Lowe fan for enhanced cooling. The fuel and water pumps have been replaced, and both the brake and clutch systems have been refurbished with new master and slave cylinders. The suspension has been similarly refreshed, with new stub axles, wishbone pans, drop links, and rear leaf springs. The brakes have also been overhauled, featuring new pads, shoes, rear brake cylinders, and front callipers.
Garaged and only driven in dry conditions, the car benefits from further enhancements such as a stainless steel boot rack, roll bar, stainless steel exhaust, and spotlights. It also comes with a comprehensive history file, including a BMIHT Heritage Certificate, MOT records dating back to 1986, and various invoices.
Since being with us here at Bridge Classic Cars, a leak from the gearbox has been repaired, new gaskets and front brake hoses, and a new hood have also been fitted.
Please note that any tickets obtained during the cancelled competition for this car on 1st October 2024 are not valid and will not be included in the draw.
Entry is limited to 1 ticket per person.
