The 1958 Austin Healey 100/6 Mille Miglia is an easily recognisable British sports car known for its performance, style, and racing history. Part of the popular Healey 100 series, the “100/6” name indicates the car’s 100 mph top speed and six-cylinder engine.
Introduced in 1956, the 100/6 featured a 2.6-litre straight-six engine, which provided 117 horsepower and improved performance compared to its four-cylinder predecessor. This made the car smoother and more powerful, making it a favourite for both road races and rallies.
The Mille Miglia edition is particularly famous. The Mille Miglia is a tough 1,000-mile race in Italy, and the 100/6 was specially prepared for it. Enhancements included better suspension, a stronger chassis, and aerodynamic tweaks to handle the race’s challenges.
Visually, the 1958 Austin Healey 100/6 Mille Miglia is a classic example of British sports car design. It features a long front end, wire-spoke wheels, and a simple, driver-focused interior. Its low, sleek shape and smooth lines reflect the style of the time beautifully.
Our 1958 Austin Healey 100/6 Mille Miglia was originally supplied to a dealer in America. Back then, it was Ivory White and Black over a Black interior. When the car returned to the UK, in the 1990s, it underwent some restorative work and was finished in Blue over Old English Cream – the undeniably recognisable Austin Healey colours.
