[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It’s official, our 1966 Jaguar E-Type is now fully UK registered. The V5 has arrived and the new UK registration has been issued LKE354E. She left us for the states in 1967 and remained property of the USA up until recently. Welcome home!! With the new plates fitted up she’s ready to get back out on […]
The recommissioning work is now complete and after a few days of test driving we can now confirm that our 1966 Jaguar E-Type is ready to head home. …unfortunately the UK registration documentation has not come through as yet so until we know the new registration she’ll be tucked away in our Pettistree building and […]
With the rear cradle removed from the car in order to rebuild the brakes we decided to clean it up and give it a new paint finish just to freshen it up. It is important to think of the smaller jobs at every step of the way as the opportunity to clean up and paint […]
The car arrived to us with the brakes completely seized, the fluid had solidified and dried up. We’ve now stripped them back completely and are now in the process of rebuilding the front and rears. Whilst the rear cradle is out we will clean up and re-paint so give it a fresh look.
Having recently purchased this original right hand drive 1966 Jaguar E-Type Series 1, the new owner has called upon our services to get her up and running and back on the road. This 1966 model is believed to have left the UK in 1967 to spend its life in California. Being imported back in to […]
This morning, we bid farewell to our wonderful and very desirable 1966 Jaguar E-Type, 4.2 litre 2+2. We are very pleased to have been able to offer this original UK matching number E-Type, Series 1, 2+2. Our initial intention was for a full concours rebuild but having been approached by a customer wishing to carry out […]
Three safe arrivals in the same week. Baby Loick joined us Monday. And our Jaguar E-Type and concours Austin Morris Mini Clubman arrived on Tuesday. Brought to our Ipswich workshops from the north of Scotland by Ronnie; the owner of Karr Solutions. We use Ronnie for all our vehicle shipments that don’t require our covered […]
We are very excited to see our newest member of the Bridge family leaving it’s home in Scotland to make it’s way down to our Suffolk workshops. This stunning 1966 Jaguar E-Type will soon be treated to a brand new re-spray before we complete the rebuild that the previous owner had started so brilliantly for […]
I was put on to our latest acquisition by my old friend Brian Farquar of Abelour in Bonny Scotland. Brian finds me lots of cars and is a keen collector himself. He loves his Minis and his old Fords and they are immaculate. Show winners. Brian can describe a car and we would always buy […]
For the eagle eyed readers amongst us you may have noticed that our usually ‘completed project’ photo shoot was a little incomplete on this occasion. If you look closely you’ll see the front headlight scoops are not fitted at the time of the photo shoot and that was a little disappointing for us but unfortunately when […]
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Not all of our projects end with a midnight completion followed by a 4am photo shoot scheduled but our 1966 Jaguar E-Type has not been a normal project. As always, Jason from Sugar and Spice Photography in Felixstowe has done an absolutely incredible shoot for us. Normally we like to take our restorations to a beautiful […]
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]After a very long day and a fantastic team effort from the guys in the workshop our 1966 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 Series 1 is finally complete. A few slight alterations that need to be made but as it’s now 11pm and we’ve all been in since 6am this morning I think these alterations can wait […]
It’s a race to the finish line now as we are working late into the final evening before the auction which takes place in Kings Lynn tomorrow. The number plate has now been fitted to the front and the great news is…it went on the first time of trying. Anyone who has fitted a self […]
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Towards the end of a restoration is the best time to have that final look over the paintwork, really look into the detail of the finish to make sure that everything is exactly how you want it to be. As I am sure you already know, different lighting shows cars off in a different way. […]
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The major task of refitting the interior is upon us. With all of the new components set out in the assembly workshop it was just a matter of piecing together what parts go where before Asa and John got stuck in with the re-trim. It’s always a huge task on any restoration but one that […]
It’s all about the finishing touches…so when our original number plates arrived from Sheldrake and Wells in Ipswich, before we committed to fitting them onto the vehicle we offered them up to the bodywork to see how they looked. The front stickers looks fantastic but the rear just didn’t look right so it was back […]
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Now back from Car Glass and Trim, the ceiling cloth and glass are almost complete. We were hoping to have it turned round within the 24 hour window we had but unfortunately not everything can go according to plan. Only a few alterations that need to be made so all should be complete within the […]
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Today was a deadline that we couldn’t afford to miss! We had our time slot booked in with Car Glass and Trim in Ipswich to have the new ceiling cloth and glass fitted. With only a matter of days to go until our 1966 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 appears in the classic car auction held […]
The brand new multi-spoke EType wheels have been fitted to the original specification tyres: Michelin 185 VR 15 XVS (185/80R 15 93V)
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Although our schedule is tight our attention to detail will never suffer, it just means we may have some busier and longer days ahead but that’s what makes the team at Bridge Classic Cars so great! It’s the beginning of our final full week and still lots to do in our Ipswich workshop. If all […]
It’s all go in the workshop this week as the pressure is on for Asa and John to finish the 1966 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 restoration, ready for the auction the week after next. And quite often the case with restoration projects, just as you think things are on track you meet an unwelcomed problem. […]

Asa and his team are used to working on tight deadlines but this one is the tightest deadline we have ever had. Next week the new biscuit trim will arrive so it is important to get the exterior […]
It’s been a busy few days at Bridge Classic Cars. The chrome-work has been sorted and organised ready for the rebuild and we’re expecting our Jaguar back any day now. Here is a few of the guys getting her ready for top coat earlier today..

Tony’s company are expert metal polishers and a Chroming centre. A keen classic car enthusiast himself he always goes the extra mile but in […]
Although the car was 80% restored and freshly painted we were never going to happy with the paint finish. It would of been easy to bolt on the missing parts and sell as is, but Bridge Classic Cars name would be on it. We discussed at some length and the decision was to repaint. Stripped […]
It has been a busy week at Bridge Classic Cars but time well spent as the E-Type is now stripped back to basics. On Saturday morning we were finally able to sit back and really assess the extent of the work that would be required. As you can see, the chrome work was then organised so the next […]
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It’s been a week now since we collected our 1966 Jaguar E-Type from VVS and it’s been a very busy week at that. The disassembly task is well under-way on the Jaguar E-Type and today we are all in the workshop ready to discuss what’s next and assigning everyone with there tasks for the following few […]
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It’s been a pretty busy day in the workshops today. Asa has been working alone and it’s day 1 of the E-Type restoration. First things first, we needed to remove all of the loose contents from within the vehicle, lay them out in some wort of order to try to establish what we can rescue and […]
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Trying to find a trailer key that had fallen out of the trailer at 5:30am is not considered to be the best start to a morning but never the less, it was our start to the morning. Anyway, after a good look round we found the key and we were on our way… We had a […]
