BYD looks like it wants to make a huge impact on this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, as the brand is bringing eight new vehicles across the BYD, DENZA, and YANGWANG brands. If that wasn’t enough, BYD’s display will be the largest ever stand at the Festival of Speed, as it will cover 2,016 square metres!

The biggest talking point is likely to be the global debut of the new DENZA Z Coupe and DENZA Z Racing. Following on from the Z Spider, which was revealed at Auto China earlier this year, both all-electric performance cars showcase the latest evolution of DENZA’s design language. The Z Coupe has supercar performance, but it also has that highly sought-after everyday usability. This is thanks to its 2+2 seating layout and practical boot, while the more focused Z Racing turns things up a bit with an aggressive carbon-fibre aerodynamic package.

Goodwood will be a very important event for DENZA, as it will be the brand’s official launch in the UK. Alongside the new Z models, visitors will be able to see the BAO 5 SUV, which will be making its first appearance in Europe. Powered by DENZA’s DM-o hybrid technology, it combines electric performance with genuine off-road capability. The Z9 GT and D9 DM-i will also form part of the brand’s growing UK line-up.

On the BYD stand, the recently revealed DOLPHIN G DM-i will make its UK debut. The plug-in hybrid supermini is expected to be a significant model for the brand, offering buyers a combination of long-range efficiency, everyday practicality, and technology not currently found anywhere else in the segment.

Another key debut comes in the form of the BYD SHARK pick-up, which will be making its European debut at Goodwood. With a 435PS plug-in hybrid powertrain, strong towing capability, and the versatility expected from a modern pick-up, it represents BYD’s latest move into a new market segment.

The luxury YANGWANG brand will also have a big presence at the event. The U9 Xtreme hypercar will appear in the UK for the very first time after making headlines with record-breaking performances at the Nürburgring and in top-speed testing. It will be joined by the U7 luxury saloon and the U8L SUV. These will all be to show the technology and engineering that sit at the very top of BYD Group’s portfolio.

As well as the new cars, BYD’s stand will also have a dedicated technology zone, off-road displays, robots, driving simulators, a merchandise store, and a rooftop hospitality area for guests.
