Ben recently took our 1976 Jensen Interceptor out for a test drive as it nears the end of its time with us. Molly joined him to see how it went.

Jensen Progress

This is one of those times when words aren’t needed. All I will say is that our 1956 Jensen 541 has come to the end of its restoration and is looking incredible!

541 Chrome

Jensen Interceptor Headlights

Ben is currently fitting up the components on our 1976 Jensen Interceptor. Headlights are going in, some of the chrome trim is also being fitted. The owner of this incredible machine is visiting later this week so we look forward to showing him the progress to date.

Jensen Interceptor Bumpers

Interceptor Rebuild

Greg carried out work on our 1976 Jensen Interceptor, starting with rebuilding the locking cylinders using components from an old Spitfire lock, as new replacements are no longer available. Jensen 541 Handbrake Repair

The handbrake lever on our 1956 Jensen 541 was found to have excessive movement. Upon investigation, it was discovered that two locating bolts were missing from the handbrake pivot. These bolts were replaced, and the handbrake was then adjusted to ensure correct operation.

Interceptor Body Work

The doors of our 1976 Jensen Interceptor have been primed before being rubbed down.

Raptor For Our 541R

A panel from our 1960 Jensen 541R had its external areas masked before the interior surface was coated with black satin Raptor. The car was then flatted down in preparation for polishing.

More Interceptor Priming

The Bridge Classic Cars paint team have been busy masking up our 1976 Jensen Interceptor in preparation for primer to be applied. Now that it is primed, it is moving on to getting painted.

Interceptor Prep And Seats

Mauro is continuing with the preparation work on our 1976 Jensen Interceptor in readiness for primer. Lydia has been working on the front seats, focusing on cutting and sewing several intricate and detailed sections. The foam has also been covered with a layer of scrim to enhance the level of plushness.

Body work on our 1976 Jensen Interceptor

All panels on our 1976 Jensen Interceptor, including the doors, wings, boot, and bonnet, were levelled. The front and rear bumpers were fitted to the car. To achieve proper alignment and fitment, the bumper brackets were modified, and adjustments were also made to the body fixings.

All Done

Our 1956 Jensen 541 has come a long way since it first arrived in the Bridge Classic Cars workshop. After being cleaned recently, the car was looking incredible and we can’t wait to see it back out on the road very soon.

Seat Base

Jensen Panels

Chris continued fitting up our 1960 Jensen 541R for final panel levelling and gapping. Chrome work was installed, and all panels were completed in preparation for the polyfan application. Any exposed bare metal areas were coated with epoxy.

Assessing A Jensen 541

Jonn has been appraising our 1956 Jensen 541. Here are his notes: Grease all points. Remove all wheels and strip and check brakes. Wash down engine and gearbox areas. Refit all brake drums. Jensen Engine Work

After Tony collected the engine of our 1960 Jensen 541R, Paul fitted the clutch and brake master cylinders to the car. He then cut the heat shield to shape and fitted it to the bulkhead. Paul went on to prepare the fuel tank before fitting it. The flywheel has also been prepped.

Interceptor In Paint

Jensen Surrounds

We have now received hand delivery of the door surround brightwork, all wrapped and ready to be fitted later on in the restoration journey. For now, they will remain wrapped and will be stored away awaiting their time to shine!

Sill Step

Christian modified the sill step of our 1975 Jensen Interceptor Mk3. He also cleaned the car out and sprayed it ready for storage.

Jensen Front Suspension

Classic car technician Paul has been working on the front suspension of our 1956 Jensen 541. After removing the worn bearings, new parts were fitted. The components that make up the suspension were then checked and cleaned ready to be assembled. Paul then put the front suspension and brakes back together.

Jensen 541 Interior Work

Fitting inner glovebox top section and outer panel.
