A Happy Winner: 1963 MGB Roadster

Congratulations to Chris Witherspoon who recently won our 1963 Iris Blue MGB Roadster with his lucky ticket number 1341!

Almost as if it were fate, Chris tells us that he saw the MGB drive past his house just before the live draw, and as it turned out, he was the lucky winner! We’re delighted to see it go to someone who plans to cherish it and enjoy it. What a perfect summer car! We’re told that Chris has already bought lots of extras for the car and explained to us that he’d been looking to buy a summer convertible anway – what perfect timing!

At the hand over, Chris told us that he’d never won anything in his life. We can’t think of a better ‘first win’ to have!

An overwhelmed and excited Chris also told us that he aims to drive his daughter to her wedding in the car and we can’t think of a better wedding vehicle than our little blue MGB!

We wish you many happy miles in your new classic, Chris.

Competition Winner: A Happy Lad And His Landy

We’re delighted to see that our 1964 Land Rover Series IIA was delivered to Ian in Devon this morning and he’s already told us he’s named it Toby.

Ian bough just a single ticket and as luck would have it, that was the winning one!

“Received this morning bright and early. Fantastic service and so chuffed to have won this, being a big Landyphile. Already been out for its first spin around the lanes. Toby is going to be loved and fettled in his new forever home and will meet his sister Mabel, the Series 1 once she back up and running” Ian tells us. “Toby is derived for 70B (TOB) as per registration plate.”

Francis Barnett Winner

Congratulations to Mike Parsons, who’s just taken delivery his 1953 Francis Barnett Rigid Body Trials Motorcycle. Mike’s winning ticket was number 130.

Mauro drove all the way to Mike today to drop off the bike, which was received by a beaming Mike who quickly proceeded to take it for a test drive around his barn.

Behind The Scenes On Thursday’s Live Draw

We had an exciting live draw with two winners announced, Mike Parsons won our 1953 Francis Barnett Trials Motorcycle with ticket number 130 and Iain Baker won our 1964 Land Rover Series IIA with ticket number 1248. A big congratulations to both winners, we hope you love them as much as we do!

We had some minor technical issues thanks to the weather but we appreciate everyone’s paitence as we continue to improve our live streams.

Free Goodwood Competition Celebrates A Year Of Bridge Classic Car Competitions

We’ve been giving people the chance to win their dream classic cars for just a few pounds through their competitions since May 2020 and now, 12 months on, we’re running a free competition to win tickets to Goodwood as a thank you to all our supporters.

Our Goodwood competition gives you the chance to win 4 Goodwood Tickets plus £500 of spending money. The winners will get to experience one of the best motoring festivals in the world. The Bridge team will also be there representing the company, so keep an eye out and say hello!

Last year as Coronavirus threatened the UK, we had to get inventive with how to adapt and change as our team of specialist classic car engineers were furloughed. We came up with the perfect idea for keeping the business running and the country’s idle minds entertained: Competitions!

This idea came about after one of our engineers, Mauro, won his dream car from another UK car competition site. Weeks after entering, a shiny new 2005 Mitsubishi Evo appeared at Mauro’s house. After much research and preparation, the team ran their first competition car, a white 1964 MGB Roadster.

These competitions were not easy to start. We were met with numerous accusations of being a scam, and with no previous winners to prove their legitimacy, we tackled it in the same way we run their business, with transparent honesty and a human touch. Being just Freddie and Craig behind the competitions at the time, all questions, queries, and sceptics were handled directly by them.

As the weeks went by, the competitions became increasingly more popular and began taking off to wider audiences. With momentum building and a fan base growing, several cars were introduced at a time. Our humble team of 3, including Charlotte, who is still our fantastic live-draw presenter and friendly face to the competitions, winners, tickets, and cars came flooding in.

Now almost a year later, the competitions have produced 33 lucky winners, lead to a growing team, the addition of Ellie, and an even larger following, we have become well known for our uplifting competitions that supply the nation with the chance to win their dream car. With morale low, the live draws and good odds have become a welcome company for those struggling to find the fun in lockdown life.

The regular Live Draws have become friendly company for the competition regulars who tune in to watch and interact with Charlotte and the team at the company’s hanger at RAF Bentwaters. A walk round and friendly chat pre-empts the announcement of the winner, which is always met with overwhelming support from gracious losers. The competition has not only provided entertainment through a long and difficult year, but also created a community for those who love and enjoy classics to discuss and chat.

For the majority of those who enter, winning a classic car could be life-changing and the cars given away can be worth in excess of £30,000. So far, we have given away £850,562.50 worth of classic and modern classic motors.

MGB GT LE Delivered To Happy Winner

Congratulations to Duncan Walker, winner of our 1981 MGB GT LE

MGB fanatic, Duncan, took delivery of his Limited Edition MGB late last week and was delighted with his new classic motor!

Duncan had entered our first ever competition for a 1964 MGB Roadster, as well as entereing several other draws since then, including our other 1972 MGB Roadster.

We wish you many happy miles of motoring ahead in your superb classic!

Behind The Scenes: Stag photoshoot

Last week, the team drove over to our hanger at Bentwaters to shoot our Triumph Stag, which you may recognise as one of our latest competition cars. Alongside the standard shoot, we also had our friend and model, Hannah, accompany us to take some portraits with the car. We’ve found that in recent months, adding in portrait shots with our photo collections is a great way to mix up our content and show the car in action.

We were lucky with the weather as the sun graced us with its late winter warmth. With a large film crew set up at Bentwaters, we’ve found ourselves exploring new locations on the base.

You may have seen a lot of these photos over on our competition site or on our social pages such as Facebook, but for those that havent, or what to see the whole collection, you can browse the Stag in full detail here.

Mercedes Winner Delighted With New Car

Another delivery to one of our competition winners! A big congratulations to Steven Lambe with lucky ticket number 950. We delivered our 1996 Mercedes 320SL up to his home north of Newcastle yesterday after Craig and Gordon took the long road trip up north.

Steven, a Mercedes enthusiast, only spent only £18 with us, meaning he bought just two tickets and managed to win with one of them! Although he used to race hot-rods Steven recently sold his last one to fund his current modern Mercedes. Steven is also part of the Mercedes owners club and now has two stunning Mercedes Motors he can take along to meets and greets!

We can’t wait to see what Steven gets up to with his new modern classic!

Here’s a snap of a true northern sight from the cabin on the way up north.

Mercedes and Rolls Royce Live Draw: Behind The Scenes

Another live draw and two more winners! Last night we announced two more winners to add to our growing collective of lucky classic car winners! Our 1996 Mercedes 320SL and 1992 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit II found their new owners during our live draw that we hosted at our HQ in Pettistree.

Charlotte and Craig took us around the workshops to show off our current restoration projects and upcoming vehicles. With lots of exciting cars soon to be released, the live draw was jam-packed with exclusive news.

A big congratulations to Russ Warman who won our classic Rolls Royce with his lucky ticket number 499 and Steven Lambe who won the characterful Mercedes with his ticket number 950!

Charlotte also helped us move the cars around before the draw and had a go in our MGB GT LE, which she agreed is a pleasant drive! Keep an eye out for the release of our MGB, which is set to be our next competition car.

Last Nights Live Draw – BMW Winner

Last night we held our live draw to announce the BMW Z3M winner! As always, Charlotte joined us to take a walk through the cars in the hanger and the competition before she announced the winner.

We’re delighted to announce the winner of our BMW is Philip Hatswell with ticket number 3267. We’re yet to hear back from Philip but we’ve sent him a message to let him know he’s won, and we can’t wait to drop it off for him!

You can watch our live draw back here. We also work to capture behind the scenes shots to give you an insight into what we see!

Another Happy Winner

Our Daimler arrived safe and sound with Gabriel Oconnell last week. We loaded up the lorry and sent it on its way over to near Cardiff and were delighted to receive a photo of two smiling faces! Gabriel and his wife Margaret were over the moon when it arrived, the smiles tell it all!

We can’t wait to hear about Gabriel’s drives with his new motor as he lives in a beautiful district of wales between Swansea and Cardiff, a stunning backdrop for a stunning car!

This Daimler already has a very special place in their hearts as Gabriel told us he used to visit his brother’s house every fortnight to polish his similar Jaguar XJ. His brother has unfortunately passed away, but we hope this car brings back fond memories.

Gabriel has already joined the Jaguar and Daimler club and has ordered up a car cover to keep his new pride and joy looking show-ready.

Here’s some shots of Russell’s loading up the Daimler ready for its long journey to Wales.

Will you be our next classic car winner? We’ve got a stunning Rolls Royce and a modern classic BMW up for grabs over on our website, check them out!

Another Happy Winner

Last week we delivered our 1979 Chevrolet Corvette to a delighted Lee Bache in Southampton. After only buying a singular ticket for his first competition entry at Bridge, Lee couldn’t believe his luck when his name and number was picked!

Lee told us he couldn’t wait to drive it around the New Forest, which we can be sure, will be a stunning drive to both experience and watch.

Lee was heard about Bridge Classic Car Competitions when his friend, Claudio, told him about the car giveaways. Claudio has entered multiple times with us and it was our characterful yellow Rover Mini that caught his eye. We love to hear stories of friends entering and getting involved with our competitions and can’t wait to see Lee and his friends enjoy this amazing motor.

Lee left a lovely review shortly after recieving his new motor:

“I’m writing this review because I’m telling you now that this is 100% real. I wasn’t sure about it at first because I had mixed emotions, never really participate in things like this. I used to put on football bets for a bit of fun on the weekend and won nothing, I think personally that I have better chances with better odds buying a ticket with these guys. I bought one ticket and mine was the lucky one. I’m so happy. My Chevrolet corvette was delivered this morning and it was a dream. The car is in mint condition. All the staff were very accommodating, answered the phone at any time of the day and gave me all the information I needed. I would strongly recommend Bridge Classic Cars to anyone. With tickets under £10 is nothing. OK, mine was £17.50 but at the end of the day, I own an American muscle car 💪 the buzz is amazing! Buy your tickets and you never know you could be a happy lucky winner like me.”

A big thank you to Claudio who also took some of the photos you see below – thanks for helping us capture this special moment!

If you fancy your chances at being our next classic car winner, check out our current motors! We’ve got two more charming red classics that could be yours for under £10!

Courtzz01 – October 2020

Our 1990 Austin Mini Thirty winner Courtney Barker couldn’t help but share this gushy Instagram post about her new toy!

“Always wanted one of these and still cant believe its mine!” – Well you better believe it Courtney, its certainly all yours!

Courtney has been a classic car fan since she was a child and has even set up her own car fan club – East Coast Japanese. She’s clearly been having so much fun with her new Mini, she’s forgotten to take pictures!
