Behind The Scenes – 1996 Mini Cooper 35

We took our 1996 Mini Cooper 1.3 over to Bentwaters for its photoshoot. We were lucky with the good weather and bright sun for our photos and videos. As usual, the team split in two with Freddie handling the videos and Ellie shooting the photos. Craig and Charlotte later joined to be our faces and drivers for this mini.

Charlotte came to help out for this shoot and sat for some portraits to create some more lifestyle photos for this characterful classic.

Behind The Scenes – 1969 Mini Deluxe MKII

We headed out to Bentwaters to shoot our classic 1969 Mini Deluxe, which is one of three of our most recent mini madness competition release. This mini in particular comes bursting with stories and personality including its own Mini World magazine feature, untouched fuel ration tokens are beautifully aged interior.

Charlotte came to help out with the driving and sat for some portraits and more editorial photos. We love having people involved with the cars as we find it brings the car to life, and with Charlotte being our talented presenter, she’s perfect to also sit in for photos and videos. Prior to each shoot Freddie and Ellie organise with Charlotte what she’s going to wear for each car to match the style, and how we’re going to pitch the visuals.

The log pile made for a great location to shoot this darling classic, as the tones of the mini match the timber perfectly.

Freddie shooting his videos for the mini:

We also get Charlotte to drive our cars around Bentwaters for Freddie to shoot his video. We’re lucky to have access to Bentwaters for our shoots and videos. We have a hanger here on base and find that Bentwaters provides a perfect selection of back drops.

MGB GT LE Delivered To Happy Winner

Congratulations to Duncan Walker, winner of our 1981 MGB GT LE

MGB fanatic, Duncan, took delivery of his Limited Edition MGB late last week and was delighted with his new classic motor!

Duncan had entered our first ever competition for a 1964 MGB Roadster, as well as entereing several other draws since then, including our other 1972 MGB Roadster.

We wish you many happy miles of motoring ahead in your superb classic!

Double Triumph Trouble?

By pure coincidence, we’ve had both of our TR winners send us photos of their TR3 and TR4 out on the road yesterday! We love getting updates from winners about how they’re getting on with their new motors, its one of the best bits about gifting cars!

Karl Reilly has been driving his charming green TR3 around his local area in Essex. Now the weather is looking up, Karl can begin to enjoy roof down days in his iconic classic. As part of the Triumph Club, we hope to see more photos of him and his TR3 with other Triumphs.

Behind The Scenes: 1981 MGB GT LE Photoshoot

On friday, Ellie and Freddie took to Bentwaters to shoot our latest competition car, the 1981 MGB GT LE, a limited edition MGB GT. Its fast back rear and silver exterior makes for a trendy classic car.

1 of only 580 MGB GT LE’s built, this rare model was one of the final run to leave the production line before the closure of the Abingdon factory in 1980. This MGB is not only a lovable and affordable classic, but makes a great every day vehicle too.

With Freddie handling the video and main visuals, Ellie worked on capturing the behind the scenes insights and artistic shots. After scouting out multiple locations across Bentwaters, the team settled on the run way after shooting some content on the access roads and by the log piles.

The MGB has had its PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) and only had a few small leaks which have been fixed.

Here’s an exclusive view on some of the extra visuals shot last week…

Mercedes and Rolls Royce Live Draw: Behind The Scenes

Another live draw and two more winners! Last night we announced two more winners to add to our growing collective of lucky classic car winners! Our 1996 Mercedes 320SL and 1992 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit II found their new owners during our live draw that we hosted at our HQ in Pettistree.

Charlotte and Craig took us around the workshops to show off our current restoration projects and upcoming vehicles. With lots of exciting cars soon to be released, the live draw was jam-packed with exclusive news.

A big congratulations to Russ Warman who won our classic Rolls Royce with his lucky ticket number 499 and Steven Lambe who won the characterful Mercedes with his ticket number 950!

Charlotte also helped us move the cars around before the draw and had a go in our MGB GT LE, which she agreed is a pleasant drive! Keep an eye out for the release of our MGB, which is set to be our next competition car.

@tomboy_a_bit Rolls Royce Feature – February 2021

A few weeks ago we welcomed Deimante (@tomboy_a_bit) and her partner up to Bentwaters to shoot some of our cars. We received the BMW shots at the beginning of February and today we got these beautiful Rolls Royce shots. We’re delighted with the results!

Deimante writes;

“Have you ever driven Rolls Royce!

I only just did! Never been a fan of a big, luxury, automatic cars that looks like I have to behave in them and sit like a lady on the back seat.

But driving 6.7 V8 Silver Spirit II made me actually feel like I’m a teenager who stole dad’s car. I could instantly imagine how it would be to go for a road trip in a car like this. (Could probably fit a pit bike in it).”

If you fancy winning this stunning classic, you can buy your tickets here. Alternatively, you might want to dive straight in there and buy your own! If that’s the case, we’ve also got you covered with our Rolls Royce Corniche.

Another Happy Winner: BMW Z3M

One of our favourite parts of our competitions is delivering cars to their newfound owners! We loaded up the 1998 BMW Z3M on Friday in the snow so it was ready to leave on Monday once the roads were safer.

A big congratulations to Philip Hatswell who won with ticket number 3267. Philip is currently out of the country so his brother Steve kindly took delivery of it down in Sussex.

We’re delighted to see it will be in safe hands until Philip gets back to the UK!

Could you be our next winner? We’ve got two more red beauties up for grabs below:

Behind The Scenes: Rolls Royce Silver Spirit II Photoshoot

A few weeks ago our marketing team and our friend Jack, headed over to Bentwaters early one morning to film and shoot the latest competition car. With sunshine streaming through the trees, you could easily overlook how brisk the weather was. Crisp blue skies and dreamy dappled sunshine provided the perfect Suffolk set up to show off our classic Rolls Royce.

Now available, this car could be yours to win for just a few pounds! We’ve got plenty more photoshoots coming up soon so keep your eyes peeled!

As well as stationary shots, we also focus on moving shots and videos that capture the beast in motion.

The Oldest Jensen’s Door fix

Our oldest Jensen, the 1957 541R has had some issues with its left side front passenger door. We’ve been working to modify it to allow it to sit more comfortbly in line with the rest of the body. With the alignment sorted, we also needed to address the ill fitting door car before it could be dressed.

One of our engineers has worked on making the inside of the door frame deeper so that the door car could fit inside.

The Stag Arrives

Late this evening, two new motors arrived at Bridge Classic Cars HQ, a 1949 Morris Minor Lowlight and this 1971 Triumph Stag 3.0 V8.

With a few tweaks and fixes needed, this Stag will be worked on in our workshop for a short time before being photographed and released as a new competition vehicle.

Another Day, Another Winner: 1994 Range Rover Classic

What a beautiful day to deliver someone’s dream car! On Friday morning our friends at Russells’ came to pick up our beautiful 1994 Range Rover Classic to take it to its new owner in Oxford.

David was beaming when the car was delivered, we’re sure he’s excited to get driving his beautiful new classic! Perfect for the snow!

We also love getting getting shout outs and seeing our winners post on ther social media platforms! Thanks for the shout out!

Last Nights Live Draw – BMW Winner

Last night we held our live draw to announce the BMW Z3M winner! As always, Charlotte joined us to take a walk through the cars in the hanger and the competition before she announced the winner.

We’re delighted to announce the winner of our BMW is Philip Hatswell with ticket number 3267. We’re yet to hear back from Philip but we’ve sent him a message to let him know he’s won, and we can’t wait to drop it off for him!

You can watch our live draw back here. We also work to capture behind the scenes shots to give you an insight into what we see!

BMW Portraits From @Tomboy_A_Bit

Deimante has sent us these stunning portraits that her partner took when they came to visit our hanger last week. These stunning photos really do justice to just how stylist this BMW is!

Don’t forget the live draw is tomorrow night, so get those tickets whilst you can!

Another Happy Winner

Our Daimler arrived safe and sound with Gabriel Oconnell last week. We loaded up the lorry and sent it on its way over to near Cardiff and were delighted to receive a photo of two smiling faces! Gabriel and his wife Margaret were over the moon when it arrived, the smiles tell it all!

We can’t wait to hear about Gabriel’s drives with his new motor as he lives in a beautiful district of wales between Swansea and Cardiff, a stunning backdrop for a stunning car!

This Daimler already has a very special place in their hearts as Gabriel told us he used to visit his brother’s house every fortnight to polish his similar Jaguar XJ. His brother has unfortunately passed away, but we hope this car brings back fond memories.

Gabriel has already joined the Jaguar and Daimler club and has ordered up a car cover to keep his new pride and joy looking show-ready.

Here’s some shots of Russell’s loading up the Daimler ready for its long journey to Wales.

Will you be our next classic car winner? We’ve got a stunning Rolls Royce and a modern classic BMW up for grabs over on our website, check them out!

Another Happy Winner

Last week we delivered our 1979 Chevrolet Corvette to a delighted Lee Bache in Southampton. After only buying a singular ticket for his first competition entry at Bridge, Lee couldn’t believe his luck when his name and number was picked!

Lee told us he couldn’t wait to drive it around the New Forest, which we can be sure, will be a stunning drive to both experience and watch.

Lee was heard about Bridge Classic Car Competitions when his friend, Claudio, told him about the car giveaways. Claudio has entered multiple times with us and it was our characterful yellow Rover Mini that caught his eye. We love to hear stories of friends entering and getting involved with our competitions and can’t wait to see Lee and his friends enjoy this amazing motor.

Lee left a lovely review shortly after recieving his new motor:

“I’m writing this review because I’m telling you now that this is 100% real. I wasn’t sure about it at first because I had mixed emotions, never really participate in things like this. I used to put on football bets for a bit of fun on the weekend and won nothing, I think personally that I have better chances with better odds buying a ticket with these guys. I bought one ticket and mine was the lucky one. I’m so happy. My Chevrolet corvette was delivered this morning and it was a dream. The car is in mint condition. All the staff were very accommodating, answered the phone at any time of the day and gave me all the information I needed. I would strongly recommend Bridge Classic Cars to anyone. With tickets under £10 is nothing. OK, mine was £17.50 but at the end of the day, I own an American muscle car 💪 the buzz is amazing! Buy your tickets and you never know you could be a happy lucky winner like me.”

A big thank you to Claudio who also took some of the photos you see below – thanks for helping us capture this special moment!

If you fancy your chances at being our next classic car winner, check out our current motors! We’ve got two more charming red classics that could be yours for under £10!

1998 BMW Z3M

1992 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit II

Behind The Scenes: 1998 BMW Z3M

On a brisk winter’s morning, we headed out to Aurora in Ipswich to shoot our dazzling and understated Imola Red 1998 BMW Z3M. We had the help of our friend and model, Zey, who helped us out on the shoot as our talented model and driver.

This car is now up for grabs as part of our competition draw, for which you can find out more here.

Corvette Has A New Home

Last night our 1979 Chevrolet Corvette was won by Lee Bache with his lucky ticket number 387. Our beautiful Red beast will be off to Southampton in the foreseeable future where we know it will look great driving those New Forest roads.

We’ve still got a great line-up of competition cars on our website such as the Range Rover, Daimler and BMW Z3M! Take a look below:

1979 Daimler Sovereign 4.2

Competition Winners

Yesterday we delivered our Jaguar XJ6 to winner Nick Nicola, pictured with his son, George. Nick won with lucky ticket number 664.

Our VW Beetle was won before Christmas by Colin and Jan Knight. Colin’s winning ticket was number 32. This lovely Beetle is safely stored with us over the winter. A great win for a lovely local couple.

2020 In Reflection

It goes without saying, 2020 has been tough for everyone but there have been some positives! Bridge Classic Cars turned 16, we welcomed in more unique and interesting cars, expanded the team and took new ventures.

2020’s Winners

This year we introduced our competitions back in May. With an uncertain year ahead of us, we wanted to provide some excitement to our followers, and what better way than to offer the chance of winning a car for less than £20! It wasn’t easy at first, but now with over 21 winners and up to 4 competition cars running at the same time, we’re doing better than ever. So far we’ve given away £561,197.00 worth of classic cars!

This week we’re delivering our latest winning cars, our 1974 VW Beetle that was won by Colin Knight and our 1995 Jaguar XJ6 who was won by Nick Nicola just before Christmas! We’re being careful to make the delivery as safe as possible, complying with tier 4 guidelines but we can’t wait to see Colin and Nick’s reactions!

1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Race Car Replica Completion

Its been a long restoration, but we were delighted to announce the completion of our very own project, our 1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Race Car Replica. Its come a long way from the decrepit shell we started with in 2017. Every detail, right down to the colour has been custom made and designed. This truly is a Bridge Classic Car. You can see it’s story here.

The Year Of The Jensen

We love every and any classic car and are in turn, we’re equipped to fix and restore any classic too, but 2020 for us was the year of the Jensen. We’ve had eight 541R/541S’s in this year, some of which are still with us being completed. With only 193 Jensen 541R’s and 127 541S’s ever made worldwide, to have so many in at all really is outstanding, let alone all at the same time.

The 541R models were manufactured between 1957 and 1960 when they were later replaced by the 541S that ran from 1960 to 1962. Whilst each car is incredibly unique with its story and bespoke restoration, they are also very similar, and as you can imagine, with 8 very similar cars in at the same time, it took a while to get our heads around which was which when referring to them.

Expanding the team

2020 saw the birth of the Trim Shop. Whilst we’d had individual trim specialists working with us before, we were yet to dedicate a department to it! Last year saw the creation of the Trim Shop, giving the speciality its own workshop and team which continued to grow throughout the year. Originally just Kath and Brian, we have welcomed a new face to the team recently. Lydia has now joined us and is another much-valued member of the trim shop. Having our own trim department allows us to continue keeping all our restorations under one roof, limiting the outsourcing as much as we can.

We’ve also had Ellie join this year, adding to the marketing department. Previously we had just Freddie, and briefly Charlotte doing our marketing, but as the company started to grow, we found the need to take on another set of hands for our marketing and visuals.

One of a kind – Chevron B20

We’ve had some very unique cars in this year, including this original 1972 Chevron B20. Its seen top racing drivers, international races and a big crash in its lifetime and nowWe’re selling this on behalf of the owner but in the meantime, we’re enjoying housing this incredible special car. You can find out more about its history on our blogs.

Introduction of editorial shoots

The latter part of this year saw us start shooting some of our cars in a more editorial and creative style. Whilst we’ve always organised high-quality shoots of all our competition and for sale cars, we decided to add models to some of the shoots to make them a bit different.

Now we have both Freddie and Ellie on shoots, it means we can also get behind the scene insights into our shoots.

Bespoke restorations; A tribute

Another interesting and heartfelt restoration this year was our 1972 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 that we restored. In memory of their late uncle, the owner paid to have a commemorative plaque fitted by the handbrake. We also embedded one of their Uncle’s favourite cufflinks above it as well. As we always say, each restoration is special and every car carries its own stories, but this one was particularly special.

Car Show 2020

Last January, we had our open morning car show that proved to be incredibly popular. After having to cancel our 2021 January open morning show, we hope to organise one for later this year.

Christmas Live Draw

What a way to celebrate Christmas! Last night we had a very festive live draw where we announced the lucky winners of two of competition cars, our 1974 VW Beetle and our 1995 Jaguar XJ6, as well as announcing our new competition car.

Congratulations to Colin Knight, who won our VW Beetle with ticket number 32! Nick Nicola was our Jaguar winner with ticket number 664!

We’ll be delivering their Christmas presents in the new year and can’t wait to hear from them with their new cars!

You can see the entry list here.

If you want to receive exclusive discounts on our competitions, sign up to our mailing list here!

You can also see the live draw below:

Behind The Scenes On The Chevrolet Corvette Photoshoot

On a brisk winters morning last week, our marketing team and Craig set out to photograph and video our stunning 1979 Chevrolet Corvette which is currently one of our competition cars.

As the sun rose on another frosty morning, we made use of the dreamy lighting that evoked visuals of a breezy Hollywood strip. If you were to squint and tilt your head to the side, you might mistake the pine trees for palm trees.

Driving it around Bentwaters in Rendlesham, the Corvette’s bark could be heard ricocheting through the pines. A large herd of Red Deer galloped just metres ahead of us. As the ice dripped from the trees, the sun glinted off the droplets, creating a mystic backdrop.

If you’d like to see more photos and videos from the shoot, you can find them on our Facebook page, or alternatively, head over the competition site.

MGB Roadster Winner!

Congratulations to our MGB winner, Tony Lund!

Tony is out of the country for several months with work, so his friend Phillip has very kindly taken delivery of the MGB on Tony’s behalf.

Having owned 6 MGB’s over the years, Tony is delighted to have another beautiful example back in his life. The day before the draw, Tony decided to better his odds and picked up an extra ticket… that turned out to be the winning ticket, number 508!

Congratulations, Tony. Enjoy your cracking new car!

New Arrival – Chevrolet Corvette 1979

For the keen-eyed viewers among you, you may have seen teasers of this beautiful red beast on our socials. This 1979 Chevrolet Corvette C3 will be a competition car in the near future. It’s having a pre-delivery service to ensure it’s running in perfect condition before we release it to be won.

It has a fascinating history, originating from Florida and being shipped over to the UK in 1991.

This muscle car holds a 5.7 litre C3 engine and can really pack a punch.

1979 saw the crossed-flag emblems introduced on the nose of the Corvette whereas previous models did not have this addition. Bucket seats from the 1978 model were carried forward and installed in the 1979 Corvettes.

Arriving to us this weekend in the pouring rain, we had a little drive but didn’t venture out too far. We’ll wait for dryer day…

Keep an eye out for a the release and full photoshoot coming soon!

1998 Jaguar XJR Supercharged Winner!

Congratulations to Sam Holmes from Cheshire who won our stunning 1998 Jaguar XJR Supercharged.

We delivered Sam’s new Jaguar XJR to him this weekend. What a superb win!

Sam bought just a single ticket, winning with ticket number 134.

We’re delighted to hear Sam is enjoying the car already. He recently left a comment on our Facebook post thanking everyone for their kind words; “Thanks again everybody, I think it’s finally sunk in now! Stay safe everyone.”

Behind The Scenes: 1974 VW Beetle

Join us on our new series: Behind The Scenes. Although we give frequent behind the scenes updates on our workshop, we wanted to show you some of the process that goes into our visuals.

With every competition car and for sale car, we arrange a full photo shoot to capture our beloved classics in the best possible light. Some of these shoots include models and locations and some include members of the Bridge Classic Car team hopping in and helping out at Bentwaters. No matter the setup, the aim is always the same. To tell a story and capture the car in the best way.

We recently held a photoshoot for the 1974 Cliff Green VW Beetle up at our hanger at Bentwaters. We’re lucky to have an access all areas agreement with the base, which allows us to shoot in locations otherwise not accessible to the public.

For this shoot, we had one of our technicians, Tom. as the support vehicle driver, with Freddie shooting from the support vehicle and Ellie driving the Beetle. This set up allows Freddie to shoot the moving photos and videos you see on our website and socials.

After the moving shots are completed on the runway, we then managed to discover the scenic winter backdrop of the logs you’ll see in the background of the Beetle stationary shots. This is where Ellie took the 360 shots and focused on the details as the winter sunset set the scene for a foggy and dramatic evening shoot.

Freddie also took the Beetle to our iconic photo spot on Bentwaters to take a second round of shots. We also aim to have a ‘location’ shoot and a standard shoot for each car. This means we have plenty of content to share, whether its keeping it sleek and simple or adding a bit more of a story and aesthetic to the visuals.

You can keep up to date with our behind the scenes videos on our Instagram page under ‘BTS’ highlights! Keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook stories as well as we often put up sneak peaks on there too!

We also offer photoshoots as a service, so if you’d like your beloved motor photographed by the team at Bridge Classic Cars, click the link here.

Mercedes 1999 Winner!

Congratulations to the winner of our 1999 Mercedes 280SL, Robert Read!

Roberts lucky ticket number was 131. We rang him live on the draw night and his reaction was priceless, he literally couldn’t believe it. Robert’s first was to exclaim; “You’re kidding me!”

You can watch us call him live here.

Friday Snapshot

We’ve been very busy this week with winners and photoshoots as well as ongoing works to our current projects! Check out the news section of our website for in depth exclusives on our current cars.

Live Draws and Winners

This week we aired to live videos! One being on Wednesday night as a Hanger walk around, teasing some of the cars to come which must have enticed some extra ticket buyers as all three competition cars were drawn and won last night!

A big congratulations to James Colwell for winning our 1979 Mini Clubman with his lucky ticket number 850. Our 1998 Jaguar XJR Supercharged was won by Sam Holmes with his ticket number 134. Finally, our 1999 Mercedes was won by Robert Read with ticket number 131. Although his ticket number was selected, it wasn’t the first ticket number to be chosen by Google’s random number generator. The first ticket pulled was 183, a number assigned to an unbought ticket. This just goes to show it’s worth buying those extra tickets as that could have been you!

Closer look at the Chevron

We released some details about our new Chevron B20 earlier in the week. Here’s a closer look at our new race car. We’re planning on doing an official shoot for this iconic vehicle next week, so stay tuned!

New arrival of an Austin Nippy

Yesterday we welcomed this 1934 Austin Nippy to the workshop. This little car is visiting us for an engine rebuild. We’ll be uploading more details about the car and its restoration soon!

Finishing touches on the Jaguar

As you may have seen in our previous blog, our beautiful 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Race Car project has finally been completed. This has been in progress since 2016 and this week we saw the finishing details such as these pinstripes added.

We can’t wait to start it up and photograph it! Keep an eye out for its full story and photoshoot coming next week!
