Good Luck and Thank You!
Our 1966 Land Rover Series 2A is a highly original example of one of Britain’s most iconic vehicles. Finished in its original Bronze Green with grey interior trim, this short-wheelbase model still has its honest character and charm that made the Land Rover a global legend.
Supplied new by Bristo’s Garage of Ipswich in March 1966, it was originally delivered to Geo. C. Sternett Ltd., a local agricultural business. This was the perfect place for it to be used in its intended role as a hardworking farm vehicle. Interestingly, our Land Rover comes with its original factory build sheet and dealer invoice, confirming its specification, options, and even its original purchase price.
Factory options include a hard top, bonnet-mounted spare wheel carrier, twin windscreen wipers, and period-correct flasher indicators, all of which remain with the vehicle today. Powered by a 2.25-litre petrol engine, it delivers a very simple, basic, and rugged driving experience.
Our Land Rover Series 2A has been a local car to us its entire life, so we are very pleased to have it with us as we raise money for a very worthwhile cause.
Raising Funds to Help Aspiring Music Artists
This competition is about more than just our Land Rover, though. It is about celebrating and supporting creativity and the future of music.
Our Land Rover has a strong connection to the music world as it was previously owned by the founder of Decoy Studios, a local recording studio that has welcomed artists such as Lewis Capaldi, Ella Henderson, Sam Smith, and Sam Ryder. We think that makes our Land Rover the perfect vehicle for this competition.
Proceeds from this competition will go towards supporting music-focused charities, helping to provide young people with access to instruments, education, and creative spaces. At a time when funding for the arts is under increasing pressure, these initiatives are extremely important in giving the next generation a chance to explore their potential.
By entering, not only are you in with a chance of winning this Land Rover Series 2A, but you are also helping to fund opportunities for future musicians, songwriters, and producers.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we run all of our competition cars on synthetic fuel. This is a like-for-like fossil-free alternative to petrol that reduces emissions by up to 80%. This can be mixed with traditional petrol and no modifications to the car are required. You can fuel this car with traditional petrol – we simply use synthetic fuel as part of our sustainability goals.
