Description

This car runs on Synthetic Fuel.
This car can be run on synthetic fuel as well as traditional petrol.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we run all of our competition cars on synthetic fuel. This is a like-for-like fossil-free alternative to petrol that reduces emissions by up to 80%. This can be mixed with traditional petrol and no modifications to the car are required. You can fuel this car with traditional petrol – we simply use synthetic fuel as part of our sustainability goals.

Our 1977 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider comes from the second-generation ‘Kamm tail’ era, introduced in 1970. This generation featured a more aerodynamic design, a raked windscreen, a reshaped heart grille, and some practical tweaks. Subtle updates followed throughout the ’70s, before the Series III arrived in 1982.

This particular example has been in the same ownership since 2008 and has clearly lived a very gentle life since then. In the last 17 years, it’s covered just 4,000 miles, taking the total mileage to around 65,000. During this time, it has been kept in dry storage, only being used on warm, sunny days. As it was part of a small private collection, it was used exclusively for pleasure drives and enjoyed accordingly.

Originally finished in Alfa Romeo Bianco White, a full repaint in the classic Rosso Alfa was completed, and Terry J. Harris Automotive Engineers, an Alfa Romeo specialist with more than three decades of experience, completed further works on the car.

The work carried out includes floor pan replacement, anti-rust treatment, sound-proofing, fresh gaskets and seals, new exhaust mountings, a full brake overhaul, wheel alignment, new tyres, heater motor replacement, plus work to the clutch, gearbox, and axle oils. All of this is documented through invoices and photographs in the car’s history file.
