Classic car spotted: We’ve spotted this unusual 1969 Morris Minor police car in Eaton, Manchester.
The wonderful Jaguar Mk2 was the epitome of luxury transportation when it first took to the streets in the very late 1950’s. We’ve been approached by a potential client who is looking to give this vehicle a complete restoration.
The Mark 2 Jaguar was used by the British police force, with the 3.8l engine outputting an impressive 220 bhp. Ironically, the Jaguar Mark 2’s were also known for being very popular getaway vehicles of the 60s.
The Jaguar Mark 2, driven by John Thaw’s fictional TV character, Inspector Morse recently sold at auction for over ยฃ100,000, this vehicle was the 2.4l version and had been subject to a total restoration.
Our beautiful 1960 Jensen 541R paint is currently setting in our paint booth. As the shall is made of fibreglass, the paint cannot be cured at regular ‘baking’ temperatures. Instead, it’s cured at a less intense 20 degrees. This will mean the car won’t be able to be perfected and polished until next week, but we’re sure the perfect finish will be worth the wait.
Massive thank you to Harvey from Apex Signs for coming down today to apply decals to our Jaguar E-Type Racecar. It really is starting to look ready for the track.
Here at Bridge Classic Cars, we’ve just acquired this 1984 Suzuki GSX 400T motorcycle. This air cooled 400c Suzuki is in dire need some attention. As part of this vehicles restoration, we will be modifying the vehicle in cafe racer style. The current plan is to paint the bodywork cream with a tan leather cafe racer seat. The handlebars will also be lowered to create a sleeker profile to this motorcycle. We can’t wait to see where this project will lead but we’re proud to bring this tired Suzuki back to life.

We’ve found a hole in the heater tank of our 1972 Jaguar E-Type series 3. The tank will be replaced and refitted. it’s quite a common fault for a whole to appear in the corner of the heater tank in these cars and it’s relatively straight forward four our technicians to resolve.
Chris has been getting our Jensen 541R ready for paint. He’s been rubbing down and priming the surface to be smooth for paint application. He’s also applied Raptor Coating to the back of panels in order to protect the bodywork form the elements. Now that the car has been masked up, the next stage will see the car finished in a stunning deep black paint.
