When he is happy the car will move on to paint preparation before we apply the new Surf blue and Old English white.

Future restoration projects: Sunbeam Alpine and MG Roadster

We have had a visit this week from our 1967 Sunbeam Alpine in need of some attention around the lower sills. This beautiful little classic requires replacement sills and for certain areas of paintwork to be rectified.

This could be one for the future here at Bridge Classic Cars.

Next up, we have been notified of a serious restoration project in the form of an MG roadster. Lots of work required on this oie but certainly doable. Another possible projects to come through our doors later in the year.

Our Jensen 541R Interior

Our 1957 and 1960 Jensen 541R interiors have completely taken over our trim shop as Brian and Kath return to work.

They get straight into the rebuild of our Jensen interiors and as you can see, a lot of the original components are beyond repair so many new templates are being made using the original patterns.

The Jensen rear quarter are being remade using new boarding and foam padding before being recovered in black leather.

The original leather work has been stripped, removed and being replaced with brand new material.

1982 VW Golf MkI / Mk1 remedial work

We had a visit today from Dan with his beautiful 1982 Volkswagen Golf MkI in need of a little tidying in places.

A couple of areas of paint required and re-upholstery of the front driver’s seat. We’ll also look to either repair or replace the rear parcel shelf, refit some areas of trim that need attention and fit a new sound system throughout.

Our 1960 Morris Mini is for our own private collection and the body preparation is nearing completion in the trusted and capable hands of our good friend Darrell. Once completed, the car will return to us for paint.

1989 E30 BMW 325 Completed

We finished work on this lovely E30 BMW a few months ago but have only just got around to photographing it out in the sun.

The car came in for a general recommission. In essence, doing everything the vehicle needs to get back on the road whilst making a few cosmetic improvements. Looking a little worse for wear, there were several major pieces of mechanical and cosmetic restoration to undertake with this project.

The car has had rust repairs, fabrication and been undersealed. It’s also needed a new fuel tank, fuel filter, new disks and pads and full brake service, new stainless steel exhaust and a variety of smaller mechanical components.

Darren has done a fabulous job freshening up the paintwork of this lovely E30 and our Classic Car Technicians (mainly Pete) have ensured it’s mechanically ready to be put back on the road and enjoyed.

1996 Rover Mini in the Paint Shop

We recently painted our lovely little 1996 Mini. The car has now been fitted up by our good friend Ted at Team C Racing and is back with us to have a few minor repairs and touching up in the paint shop. The work is now complete and the car safely back with Ted to continue the rebuild.

1966 Ford Mustang Arrives At The Showroom

Wow, what a car! The condition of this 1966 Ford Mustang GT is simply incredible. The interior is immaculate, as is the paintwork.

Revealed to the public in 1964, the Ford Mustang would go on to become a cult classic. Each iteration provided a slightly different take on the Mustang but most enthusiasts would agree, this first generation is one of the best!

More pictures have arrived to us from the body shop that is currently working on the Triumph TR5 body shell.

The project came to us as an unfinished restoration with key components already elsewhere being worked on so we working in conjunction with other companies on this build.

As you can see from previous posts, we have built the chassis up ready so once the shell is complete and in colour we will look to take delivery and then we can continue on with the rebuild in our workshops.

1968 Triumph TR5 Restoration Update

We’ve been sent some progress photos from the bodyshop preparing the TR5. Please note, this work is being carried out by another company as the restoration was already underway at the stage we were brought on-board.

Mike’s MGA Back In The Day

Mike Colyer has shared some wonderful photos of his MGA in it’s prime. We’re well underway restoring this wonderful classic. Soon it will be ready for many more photoshoots, looking just as good if not better than when it first rolled off the production line in 1960. We love seeing photos like this, do keep sending in images of your pride and joy.

Classic Car Weekly Feature – April 2020

The launch of Bridge Classic Cars Competitions has featured in Classic Car weekly.

Our story begins with one of our Classic Car Technician’s, Mauro.
Mauro won his dream car, whilst in a service station, by buying a ticket in a car giveaway competition. We saw what a life-changing effect winning his dream car had on Mauro so we thought, ‘How great would it be to offer a classic car enthusiast that very same feeling?’
This was when the idea of Bridge Classic Cars Competitions was born. For less than a tenner and very realistic odds one lucky winner will be driving away in their dream classic car.

Our MGB Roadster winner will be drawn this Saturday. To keep up to date with all of our competitions, make sure to ‘Like’ us on Facebook.

Our other Grantura, an example that was raced by TVR from the factory has departed us this week too. the new owner plans to restore the vehicle and take her racing! ra

Mr Klompstra – Netherlands

“The TVR has been well received in the Netherlands and Russell’s Transport has done a good job. We have already started the weekend with some dis-assembly work and making a plan and a schedule. We are going to thoroughly restore the entire car and make it ready for racing again. Thanks again for selling this piece of TVR history.”
