XJS Rebuild & AC Compressor

Here are Pete’s notes relating to his latest work on our 1993 Jaguar XJS:

Future proofing is just as important as repair so the underside has been given a fresh coat of stone guard along both sills, and around the inner wheel arches and across the front above where the under tray fits.

The rear bumper is now fully clipped and attached to the body, some shims were required to get the body lines right due to a slightly damaged mount. We have also refurbished the alloys as these were very tired looking, alongside this there are new centre caps.

A new antenna grommet was needed as the old one was broken and would have leaked into the boot space, this was very tight to fit and required a careful prod with a trim tool.

Our AC regas tech came to regas the AC after the new condenser had been fitted. Unfortunately, we discovered that the compressor is seized on the clutch system so this has now been removed for rebuild.
