World EV Day 2025 is the sixth consecutive World EV Day and is the largest global campaign dedicated to electric mobility.
Founded in 2020 by Ade Thomas of sustainability media company Green.TV, in partnership with technology leader ABB, World EV Day has become a yearly event on 9th September to highlight the growing shift towards electric vehicles.
The campaign has brought together a wide range of industry leaders, governments, and everyday drivers to promote cleaner transport. It’s even made its way into major political discussions and has been mentioned in the UK Parliament and recognised by senior advisors at the White House.
In 2023, World EV Day reached more than 200 million impressions on Twitter/X, covering 119 countries. Big names like Ford, Nissan, Tata, Volvo Trucks, ABB, FedEx, and EY all took part in highlighting their EV commitments and milestones.
But the initiative is about more than just one day. The campaign continues to encourage individuals, businesses, and policymakers to take part in shaping a cleaner, more sustainable transport future.
This year, the central message remains the same: how will you #DriveChange?
