The 1987 Maserati BiTurbo project is continuing on in the background of the Bridge Classic Cars restoration workshop. Our technician Jon has been working his way through the list of jobs on the twin-turbo coupe. The first, was to install the stereo into the dash of the car as well as hook up the boost solenoid.
”Install stereo. Connect battery and check wiring to find lives, both permanent and ignition live and earth. Only 1 live so connect stereo permanent and ignition lives together. Test stereo but it needs a code. Try, ” 0000″ and then wait half hour. Repeat with “1111” and also “3051” but no good. “9999” left to try if not speak to Kenwood to get code.
Adjust throttle stop at pedal. Make copper pipes for boost solenoid and secure. Shrink wrap pipes to cover copper and connect.”

The spare wheel carrier of the twin-turbo GT car has been cleaned up and painted by the Bridge Classic Cars paint and body team. Our paint shop manager Chris spent a while getting the piece prepped and cleaned before headed into our in-house paint booth and shot in black.
From our technician Will:
”Go through and begin to tidy up wiring and wrap exposed sections of loom in tape, go through and research mabc system identify some wrong vaccume lines, research into why boost control valve not working. More research into macb system and what may be cause our issues, find mabc system under dash and remove, remove covers on mabc system and clean of dust and check for corrosion, once clean re assemble and refit to car and test, check if it will run with unplugged knock sensor to see if it solves the boost control valve issues.”
