The Bridge Classic Cars team have been getting this 1970 MGB GT back and fighting fit. The classic sports car has been in the capable and skilled hands of our technician Jon as he dives into the project.

Disconnect handbrake at nearside rear shoes. Fit drum and secure. Brake fee now but drum has 1 spot where it slightly tightens, should be ok after driven. De adjust handbrake cable. Reconnect shoes and bleed wheel cylinder. Top up fluid. Adjust handbrake to approx 5 clicks. Check for leaks, ok. Refit wheels. Refill rear diff.

‘Strip nearside front brake. Remove disc complete ready to replace wheel bearing.’

‘Clean and fit new bearings to hub. Grease a d refit hub. Tighten and fit new split pin. Refit caliper a d wheel. Knock up all wheels tight. Take outside and warm up. Carry out road test. Very flat on acceleration otherwise all ok. Return to workshop. Secure steering wheel centre. Strip and set carbs jet depths to 1mm and check/rebuild. Use small piece of vacuum hose to join split pipe from carb to dizzy. Take outside and road test again, much better.’
