The 1963 Morris LD in our restoration workshop has become somewhat of a big deal on social media! But, the workshop team are going through the various systems to get this nostalgic workhorse back on the road for its owner.

”Removed rear wheels and drums checked brakes, removed brake adjusters nearside and offside as they were seized, stripped down adjusters unseized and lubricated. Refitted adjusters, deglased shoes and drums, refitted drums and adjusted brakes cleaned inner surfaces of wheels and refitted. Lubricated handbrake rods. Removed old battery, sandblasted and painted battery strap. Fitted rubber strips in battery tray and fitted new battery, replaced positive battery clamp. Removed carburettor removed top of carb to clean only to find in didn’t need doing so gave it a spray with carburettor cleaner and refitted top. Refitted carburettor. Removed broken exhaust.”

”Made fuel line from pump to carburettor, fabricated bracket to hold fuel line away from exhaust manifold and fitted. Removed points and condenser to fit customers electronic ignition unit only to find it didn’t fit tried to find screws so it could be modified to fit, ended up refitting points and condenser. Removed exhaust down pipe, had problems as the downpipe had welded itself to the manifold, managed to remove without any damage.”

”Fitted fuel pump, had modified the fuel line I’d made to fit the old pump. Made a better earth. Cleaned up manifold down pipe surface, recut threads on down pipe studs and ran a tap through the down pipe nuts.”
