The artist who illustrated the very famous children’s book, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt is an extremely talented lady called Helen Oxenbury, and she’s returning to her hometown of Ipswich for a special exhibition celebrating her incredible work.
Helen illustrated the story, written by Michael Rosen, in 1989. Since then, the book has been read by families all over the world.
The exhibition is called Adventures in Childhood, and will feature 50 of Helen’s original illustrations from some of her books. Hundreds of local schoolchildren will also visit to see her work.
The Helen Oxenbury exhibition will be in the Waterfront Gallery in Ipswich. It will be open every week day until September.
