Waking Up a Classic Jensen with Synthetic Fuel

Our restoration workshops are not strangers to the wonder which is synthetic fuel. The team here at the Bridge Classic Cars HQ in Suffolk have spent many months and many miles learning, testing and understanding what the synthetic fuel can do for classic cars. Apart from lowering carbon emissions by around 80%, it is also higher octane, lower ethanol and stays ‘alive’ for alot longer than traditional E5/E10 petrols.

Our competition cars run on this new technology but an increasing number of our restoration projects are beginning their journey into synthetic fuel not just because of its evironmental impacts on the glorious Suffolk countryside which surrounds our workshops but because alot of these cars are stored for long periods of time and lay dormant. Much like this 1956 Jensen 541, which has lay dormant for a little while but in that time the fuel in its tank has gone off. The synthetic fuel which we use is a direct drop in replacement but like with all cars that we have come in and wake up, we do have to do some set up on them and with using higher octane fuels the team set the cars up for drivability, response and safety.
