Ben, one of our amazing restoration technicians here at Bridge Classic Cars, has been working on our 1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1. He has been working his way methodically each of the individual systems of the classic sports car, this time Ben has been looking under the bonnet of the car. He has been looking into an issue with the clutch which he narrowed down to a snapped spring inside the pedal box of the car. To replace this crucial piece, the whole pedal box assembly had to come out – a perfect time to get the whole piece cleaned up and repainted. Whilst it was apart, Ben could also regrease and check the operation of the accelerator. But, as happens alot, whilst everything was apart Ben cleaned and polished the rocker covers as well as the carburettors for that mirror finish.
Whilst Ben let everything settle, he worked with our workshop manager John to clean up the engine grounds to work out a few running issues with the car such as an intermittent starting issue.
