The team here at the Bridge Classic Cars HQ have such a passion for classic cars that we can work on near enough any marque from any year and no job is not in our ball park. Our restoration technician Jon has been busy at work with a beautiful 1964 Daimler 250V8.
The classic Daimler has come in for a few checks and some upgrades while at Pettistree workshops just outside Woodbridge in Suffolk. The first being an electric fan to help cool the 2.5-litre Hemi.
Jon has carefully installed and wired in the fan while also connecting up to a thermostat so that we can precisely control when the fan kicks on with either the thermostat or with an override switch in the cabin. Next up was the brake system.
Jon removed the old servo from the car, including the vacuum hoses and brake pipes carefully before offering up the new servo which is a slightly different design to the original which meant that Jon had to create new vacuum pipes to run to the servo before securing it into the car and prepare the brake system for bleeding.

To begin the bleeding process, Jon removed all the wheels from the classic Daimler. He then could fill the reservoir before bleeding the servo itself and then moving onto each indiviudal caliper. During this, Jon found the nearside rear piston bolts had backed off, so after checking everything was ok he then could tighten them down to spec before performing a pressure check to make sure no leaks occured in the system. Then the wheels could go back on before being knocked tight.
Then, Jon could finish off wiring up the new upgrades to the cooling system before the team begin testing the car.
