The Bridge Classic Cars team have been working away on the 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 here at our Suffolk restoration workshops. Our technician Ben has been leading the way on this particular restoration project as he begins to inspect and reassemble the steering system as well as test fitting the anit roll-bar onto the front to check if it will bind or interfere with anything else.
‘To sort the oil leak the seals needed to be removed however the lower trail arms where seized on the taper as they have never been off before. They could not be removed on the car so the unit had to be removed split in three and the taper pressed out on the press. As I worked through taking apart the suspension wear was apparent from the upper trail arms bushes. Minor wear from the lower trail needle rollers and play in the kingpins.’
