Jon has been working on the 1973 Mercedes 250 which is in the Bridge Classic Cars restoration workshop working systematically to get the car running correctly. The car is proving to be slightly tricky to get running evenly but Jon is always up for the challenge.
”Strip and fit new return valve diaphragm to front carb and secure. Run up. Still not right. Rear carb not spraying fuel in when throttle applied. Strip rear carb and found accelerator pump diaphragm stuck in bore. Remove and found new diaphragm has a small split. Rebuild and test to see if any better now not stuck in bore. It is better gut not right. Set idle mix and it idles OK now but won’t rev out so order new diaphragm. Put 10ltrs E5 in as getting a bit low. Still can’t get it to run right. Wait until diaphragm arrives.”
