Toyota has revealed the latest addition to the Toyota Professional range, it’s all-new Land Cruiser Commercial. This is a factory conversion of the newly launched Land Cruiser passenger SUV, which combines the Land Cruiser’s famed all-terrain ability with commercial vehicle practicality.

Built at Toyota’s Burnaston facility in Derbyshire, the conversion turns the five-door, long-wheelbase Land Cruiser into a highly usable and equipped workhorse. The rear seats are removed, steel panels cover the back windows, and a full-height bulkhead with a mesh upper section separates the cabin from the cargo area. The result of these changes is a 2,000-litre load carrying capacity and a towing capability of up to 3.5 tonnes.

The single-model range sits at the top of Toyota’s LCV lineup, designed for those who want serious off-road capability without the open-bed format of a Hilux. It includes the same 2.8-litre diesel engine found in the standard Land Cruiser, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive. Drive modes and off-road systems, such as Crawl Control and Downhill Assist, have also been carried over.
Standard kit includes 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats and steering wheel, power-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic dual-zone air conditioning, and a powered tailgate with window hatch. A nine-inch touchscreen system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while safety features include Toyota’s full Safety Sense suite, Blind Spot Monitor, and Safe Exit Assist.

At a later date, the powertrain will be upgraded to incorporate the Land Cruiser’s forthcoming Hybrid 48V mild hybrid system. This will provide even more refined performance with no reduction in the car’s performance capabilities.
The new Land Cruiser Commercial will go on sale in the UK from 1st August, priced at £52,729.17, with customer deliveries starting in September.
