Touring Superleggera is returning to Retromobile 2025, with its fully restored 1959 Maserati 3500 GT. This will be on display next to an untouched 1961 barn-find example to give visitors a visual demonstration of the amount of work that goes into this type of restoration – probably one of the best “before & after” images you could get!

Maserati 3500 GT

The Maserati 3500 GT was originally designed by Touring Superleggera and introduced in 1957. It was Maserati’s first production road car and became something of a benchmark for other luxury Grand Tourers. Touring’s “Superleggera” aluminium construction made the 3500GT lightweight and stylish as well as stunningly beautiful.

The 1959 model on display at Retromobile has undergone a full restoration at Touring’s Milanese workshop. Every detail has been carefully recreated as an incredible tribute to the original car. The engine and mechanical work was completed by Candini Classiche, a specialist in Maserati restoration, resulting in Maserati Classiche Certification.

As well as its beauty and impressive restoration, the history of the car is also pretty special as it spent decades in the ownership of the Dodge family in California before making its way back to Europe.

A Side-by-Side Transformation

At Retromobile 2025, Touring will have a rare “before and after” display. Alongside the restored 1959 Maserati 3500 GT, there will be a 1961 barn-find version, still untouched. I can’t think of many more impactful sights than this – 2 cars of the same model at the two most distant ends of their restoration journey.

The Superleggera Veloce12

As well as the “before & after” display, Touring Superleggera will be showing its latest limited-series model, the Superleggera Veloce12. When they say limited, they mean it as well, only 30 of these naturally aspirated 5.5-litre V12 powerhouses will be made.

Retromobile 2025

Touring Superleggera’s display at Retromobile 2025 is as much about celebrating the Italian culture as it is about cars. On its stand (K-068 in Hall 1) you will be able to enjoy an espresso from Faema’s coffee machines as well as fine wines from Gruppo Ceretto.

Retromobile 2025 runs from February 5th to 9th at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
