This week comes to you from the future but in the past…
First off, we talk with Gordon about our 1956 Jensen 541 restoration project currently in the final stages of its build process here at our Suffolk HQ.
We talk about some of the pitfalls and challenges with restoring cars which even when built were entirely handmade and in very small product numbers such as the Jensen 541 which we have become so closely connected to throughout our many years of restoring these classic GT cars back to their former glory, and even upgrading some along the way. Plus, Gordon settles the debate on whether classic cars should be stored or driven.
Then, the team sit down in The Classic Lounge to discuss some very exciting news out this week – is the electric car dead? With news coming out that Porsche will be rolling back production on EV’s such as their flagship Taycan due to market influences, they will be investing back into combustion engines along with hybrid technology.
But, it’s made the team question a lot more things than just EV’s such as more widespread adoption of synthetic or sustainable fuels like P1 Fuels and the development of other technologies such as hydrogen for more modern cars. There’s also talk of plastic straws, gas, oil, and offshore drilling.
This, is the Torque Show.
