Pupils at St Gregory Primary School in Sudbury, Suffolk made a social media video back in January hoping to get the attention of Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock.
Their headteacher promised that if The Rock saw it and left a comment, the school would take the pupils to see the new live-action version of Moana for their end-of-year trip.
And he did see it!
After the video went viral, The Rock sent the children a special video message.
In the message, The Rock said he was “really moved” by the pupils’ video and wanted to do something special for them. He promised to rent out a cinema so the children could all watch Moana together!
He even said that their friends and families could come too, and he would pay for all the cinema snacks!
The pupils first watched his message during a school assembly. Their headteacher said the children were “absolutely shocked” and could hardly believe Maui himself was talking directly to them.
