Frontline Cars has revealed its new MGA Factory Edition. While it may look like an original MGA, it has been brought into the modern era. That means you can enjoy the look, the feel, and all the good bits of a classic car but with the reliability that comes with modern technology and engineering.
The Frontline MGA Factory Edition is lighter, faster, and has subtle changes that make it (potentially) even better than the original!

A Modern Take On A British Classic
When MG unveiled the MGA in 1955, it was quite a change from its pre-war past. Its sleek, low-slung design turned heads, and its performance on the road made it one of the most successful British exports of the time. Even back then, though, many drivers wondered what the MGA would be like with more power and more development.
This is where Frontline Cars stepped up and answered that question. With over 30 years of experience restoring and reimagining MGs, the Abingdon-based specialists have chosen the MGA as their next showpiece.
Available as either a roadster or coupé, the Frontline MGA keeps the car’s original silhouette while overhauling everything beneath the surface to meet the needs of modern drivers.
Built on Heritage, Engineered for Today
The Frontline MGA is a restomod that respects the original design and feel of the MGA but has the performance and usability that means it can easily and comfortably be driven on the roads of today.
Potential owners can choose from two naturally aspirated Duratec engines, a 2.0-litre producing 225 bhp or a 2.5-litre taking things up to 290 bhp. Either choice results in sub-5-second 0-60 mph times. This is largely due to the car’s weight of just 815kg, a whole 85 kg lighter than the original MGA 1500!
Both engines are mated to a five-speed Mazda gearbox and a limited-slip differential. In short, you get a power-to-weight ratio that rivals many modern sports cars, but you still get the feel and feedback that only a true classic can offer.

Handling Improvements
Frontline has replaced the original suspension setup with a fully adjustable five-link rear system and modern telescopic dampers up front, supplied by long-time partner Nitron.
Add to that four-piston front and two-piston rear brakes, modern electronic power steering, and Continental UltraContact tyres on classic 15-inch wire wheels, and you get a nostalgia-inducing MGA but with the hidden performance it deserves.
Subtle Changes
If you take a quick look at the Frontline MGA, you’d be forgiven for thinking it is identical to the original. That is the point, instead of reinterpreting the design, Frontline has focused on refining it. There is updated LED lighting and a discreet Frontline badge among other subtle improvements that make sure the spirit of the MGA is still present.
Customers can customise pretty much every detail of the car, from paint colour to wheel choice. Every build begins with a donor MGA, which is then transformed into a unique Factory Edition.

Interior
The interior of the Frontline MGA is probably where you will notice the most difference. It has been rethought from the ground up to keep the classic styling, but allowing modern comforts to be fitted. Hand-trimmed in premium materials, the cabin has Frontline’s alloy tub seats, optional Alcantara or leather finishes, and modern touches like heated seats, one-touch electric windows, and Bluetooth audio.
Subtle additions like door pockets, wireless charging, and optional air conditioning make the new MGA practical and ready for everyday use. Even the boot has been optimised for touring, giving drivers more space for their road trips.
“The MGA always had more to give. We wanted to keep its iconic shape and character while transforming the driving experience. This is a car that looks and feels like a classic but drives like something far more advanced. It’s light, fast, and incredibly rewarding – but still, unmistakably, an MGA. For us, building a car is about starting with building that connection with our customers directly. We work one-on-one with each build, fitting our customers into their car like a tailor fits a suit, the beauty of it being that it can be completely bespoke to what the customer wants from a car. That’s why the MGA Factory Edition is so special – it’s not a museum piece. It’s a car you’ll want to drive and reach for the keys in every scenario, rain or shine.”

The Frontline MGA Factory Edition will make its debut at this year’s Goodwood Members’ Meeting on stands 51 and 52. The cars are now available to order with first customer deliveries expected from Summer 2026.
