The workshop team here at the Bridge Classic Cars HQ have been working on the 1983 Mercedes 380SL to get it ready. Our technician Jon has been going through and testing the car meticulously to get it ready.
‘Check oil and water. Remove air filter and adjust throttle link to remove most play. Linkage is worn so wet as best as I can. Refit air filter take outside and warm up. Idle speed high. Road test. Still not right, feels like misfire or gearbox issue. Doesn’t change gear very well. Steering also out to the right. Bring back in and remove and clean out idle speed control valve. Refit and test. Idle speed still high. Auto gearbox oil level OK. Take outside and Anthony to test later.‘
