The Bridge Classic Cars team have begun to prepare the 1940 Morris C8 Gun Tractor to remove its engine ahead of its rebuild.
Jon, one of our technicians, has been working through the various systems inside the engine bay to get them removed and stored. The shrowds and covers have also been removed from the car to make extra room when it comes to pulling the engine.

The 1963 Morris LD which has been at Bridge Classic Cars for our workshop team to do carry out some mechanical reconditioning work, is having the final few jobs ticked off its list.
The team have been working underneath the classic Morris van to fit up all the new hydraulic lines to the wheel cylinders and installed the new clutch slave cylinder before hooking the metal pipework to that component to complete the circuit. The whole system was then bled and checked before the team could move on to another job.
Next, the team made new mounts for the wiper motors. These were installed in place with the switch hooked back up and tested.
Finally, before taking the classic van on a road test the team noticed the speedometer cable wasn’t working as it should. Upon inspection, the team noted an internal break in the cable itself. The original speedo cable was coiled up and on the customers request, not replaced.
With all of this work now complete, it was time for the wonderful Morris LD to head back home with its owner.

The engine is reportedly running rough and has a few issues so we invited Coltec to come and cast their expert eyes and ears over the classic military transporter.
They will be coming back again soon to carry out a few more tests and try to get to the bottom of the issues which are affecting the classic Morris.

Dave has been stripping down our Morris Minor 1000. There is mild corrosion throughout the vehicle which requires cutting out and new metal letting in. Being a convertible, we will also need to ensure the structural integrity of the chassis.
As part of the restoration, Dave is stripping down the vehicle before the rust-affected areas can be repaired. The vehicle will have all the panel alignment checked, and if needed corrected, before it receives a full respray.
As part of our inspection and recommissioning of this Morris Minor, Pete has uncovered quite severe rusting on the passenger side. Should the customer agree, we will begin repair works on the affected area shortly.
There are quite a few other jobs to do on this lovely little Morris which will be picked up shortly.
