Classic car technician Mauro has been painting our 1973 Triumph Tr6. Before he put a new coat of paint on this eye-catching classic car, he prepped the vehicle before priming it.
Once prepped and primed, Mauro painted the TR6 so it is now looking better than ever.
After Mauro had finished with our TR6, Lydia took over and got to work on the interior carpets.
New classic car technician Lydia has once again been working on one of the classic cars in the Bridge Classic Cars workshop.
Our 1973 Triumph TR6 has been her focus, specifically the interior carpets.
After returning to the Bridge Classic Cars workshop, our 1973 Triumph TR6 has been in the experienced hands of classic car technician Steve.
Steve fitted new bushes on the rear training arms as well as removing the damaged anti-roll bar mounts.
The split pins were broken and needed to be drilled out before Steve went on to remove and replace the split top ball joint boots. Rust was cleaned from the suspension bush holes before everything was put back together.
Steve also checked the fuel pressure and fuel distribution unit timing.
Before our 1973 Triumph TR6 is ready to find its new owner through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions, Classic Car Technician Chris repaired another small area of paintwork.
Chris prepped, primed, and painted the affected area and this classic car is now looking better than ever.
Someone will soon win our 1973 Triumph TR6 and, whoever is lucky enough to do so, will have a quintessential classic British sports car that looks as good as it drives!

After spending a bit of time in the Bridge Classic Cars Paintshop, our beautiful TR6 looks great and is one step closer to being ready to be won by whoever its lucky new owner will be.
We have recently welcomed yet another classic car to the Bridge Classic Cars workshop in the form of our 1973 Triumph TR6.
As with all cars that come to us, our team of classic car technicians will give it a thorough inspection and assessment before making a plan of action for its future.
This will ultimately be a competition car through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions but, before that, we will certainly enjoy having it with us until a new owner is found in the very near future.

The car has been used on holiday in France by its owner and looks like the perfect companion for a countryside jaunt.
We love seeing our cars out there in the world being used and enjoyed!

The classic Triumph will go through our workshop for our in-house restoration teams to assess and inspect before reporting back on the condition of this wonderful classic sports car.

John has been hard at work on the 1974 Triumph TR6 that is in with us at Bridge Classic Cars for a wiring issue. A rat or a mouse has managed to chew its way through part of the wiring loom.
Consequently, when the owner went to start the car is actually melted some of the wiring! Because of the extent of the damage to the wiring loom. John felt it best to replace the harness as a precaution due to the extensive damage.
John carefully began to remove the old harness for the car, working his way through the separate systems to ensure all the components could also be inspected.
The new loom was then put in place step by step, whilst also running through each part to make sure it functioned correctly now that power could be applied to the harness. Wit the harness now in, its time to test the car completely.
This beautiful 1974 Triumph TR6 arrived at the Bridge Classic Cars workshop this morning for John to begin looking into an issue with the wiring. The issue is that a mouse has managed to eat through part of the loom causing the car to have some issues.
The customer has told us that it was being stored in its Carcoon when he went to go and start the car but nothing would work.
So, our workshop manager and wiring guru John is having a look into the issue. Because of the damage done to one of the cables, as soon as the car was powered on, it melted several wires. Now, John must try and get access to the back of the dashboard to follow the trail…
We’ve been putting the finishing touches on the steering wheel of our Triumph TR6 before it goes back to Germany. Kath has dedicated her time to the pain-staking process of recvoering the wheel and carefully sewing it up around the inside edge, making sure the stitches are tight and strong.
We’ve also been making sure that the engine is running smoothly.
We’ve changed the engine water to the luxurious Evans. We’re also investigating injector fuel issues with the engine that are preventing it from running smoothly. We’ve also replaced the fuel pump and filters but this hasn’t aided the running issues. We’ve up-rated the shock absorbers by 25% too.
We’re delighted to announce that two of our classics have been finished and will be sent off to their owner in Germany very soon. The Tundra MG B was finished a while ago and has been sitting in storage whilst we completed the TR6 but now is the first chance we’ve had to have them both finished and side by side.
With just a few final touches to be made to the Magenta TR6, these two stunning classics will soon be ending their time with us. Watch this space…

We’re delighted to announce the completion of our beautiful magenta 1973 Triumph TR6 which has now be sent into storage with us. It headed over this morning and we felt very lucky to have such an expert lorry driver at our disposal as Bentwaters looked like a scene from the Arctic Circle. Mauro is one of our talented and hard-working technicians but also has a history as a lorry driver and is in charge of driving our lorry. We always know our lorry and cars are in safe hands with him at the wheel.
We’re expect to shooting this TR6 for its final celebratory photoshoot soon. Watch this space!

The Triumph TR6 has recently had new spotlights installed. Our next step is to install the switch. The client has asked that we install the switch in a discrete place so that the interior still keeps its original look.
Mauro has also installed the new steering wheel, with the cover made by our trim shop, into the TR6 which is looking very smart!

We’ve been focusing on perfecting the paintwork for our Triumph TR6, making sure the metal bodywork sits perfectly.
Currently its sitting in a filler spray awaiting a high build primer before its painted for the final time.
The work continues on our gorgeous TR6. Its recently received a new spare tire which is kept safely beneath a wooden door flap in the floor of the boot. When closed, the TR6’s boot looks neat and spacious.
Our Trim shop expert Kath has refurbished the steering wheel cover as well. This entails taking off the old one and marking out sections for the new cover. Once marked out, the two sides are sewn together and it is stretched over the wheel. The centre seam is levelled up with the centre. The two sides are then hand stitched together in a criss-cross stitch, pulling the thread tight at the stitch progresses.
When Kath reaches the end of the fabric, the thread is knotted and finished off. The centre cover was then attended to. This entailed cleaning the centre cap and re-glueing all the loose vinyl and sticking the centre back in place.
Once finished, the centre cover is wiped over, cap attached to the wheel with small fasteners and its ready to fit in the car.
Our electric specialist, Adam, has also been attending to the TR6 by re-wiring and fitting the radio. Now this beautiful Triumph is both ready for any road trip and its playlist.
The trim shop has made the centre console for the radio. This entails measuring each section, cutting out those sections from the leather, and then from those pieces, creating a gaiter for the gear stick and an outer shell for the radio console.
The next step was to make and fit the carpets which includes bolting them down and adding deadening to the tunnel.
The speaker panel was next to be made and fitted. As well as the leather, the speaker panels also needed foam padding adding to it.
Once again, the trim shop has done an amazing job fitting the new interior to the TR6. With the seats added back in, it’s looking really smart!
Our exciting 1973 Triumph TR6 is in our in-house trim shop getting some very special treatment. The body has been painted an electric magenta, meanwhile the interior will be finished with a very complimentary biscuit leather.
Kath and Brian, our interiors experts has been working on the seats for the TR6. “We fitted the diaphragm and webbing to seats” Kath describes, “then made the foam for the middle of the base, stuck that into position, then glued down the calico flaps.”
They then added foam either side of the centre foam piece to create the seats shape and again glued down the calico flaps.
“We then added foam around the base of the seat” Kath continued “then fitted the cover over and Brian trimmed it up.” The vinyl was then pushed through to the back and fitted into place.
Thereafter the foam for the squab of the seat was fixed into place and glued, ready to have it’s cover fitted.
For the headrest, the chrome eyelets were fitted into place ready to be placed over the headrest and have any excess fabric trimmed off. Wadding was then fitted to the seat ready for the cover to finally be fitted over the back of the seat and fixed into place.
The covers were then pulled down over the seats to fit snugly into place. “We clipped the bottom ears into place to hold the covers firm” Kath explains “then stick any loose ends under too.”
Any loose ends were glued into place to hold to cover still and tidy up all the edges.
Finally, the seats had their metal adjustment handle fitted over the top.
We think the biscuit leather looks almost good enough to eat!

We completed a full roof restoration on this sporty little number a few months ago, and we’re super pleased with the final look. It’s only fitting that lemonade was the drink of choice!

Now all the interior leather seat covers and panels are complete, they’re ready to be fitted into the car.
The team have also added the bespoke biscuit leather door panels. Now they’re fitted in place, the final additions are added like door handles and window crank.
It’s so exciting seeing a colour combination coming together, what do you think to this colour scheme?

Along with getting all the mechanisms working on the handles and windows, Mauro had been busy finishing up other bits. “I’ve also finished the surrounds on the doors and windows,” Mauro explains. “So all the rubber seals are now in place to make the doors water tight.”
