The humble Mini served as both a way to get from A to B as well as the first steps out onto the open road for a generation of would-be petrolheads.

From its earliest days in the late 1950’s all the way to its retirement in the early 2000’s, the classic Mini holds a special place in the classic car world – Just like this one, our 1976 Mini Clubman 1100.

With beautiful Antique Gold paintwork over a Black interior, with colour matched piping, our 1976 Mini has been lovingly looked after and cherished by its previous owners. Fitted with a 1098cc 4-cylinder engine and 4-speed manual gearbox, this bite-sized piece of gold has all the right feel for a classic Mini experience.

Our Mini Clubman has recently been restored inside and out, with all parts sourced from marque specialists such as Mini Spares and Mini Sport Ltd – as evidenced in the extensive history file which also includes the original Austin Morris ‘Passport to Service’ which details all the way back to the cars original PDI in August of 1976 at Melrose Garages in Norwich, where the car appears to have spent its first 20 years before migrating to the Northwest.

In its 48 years, the car is showing to have covered just under 63,000 miles. It is believed the engine was refreshed around 2018 with sales invoices for a piston ring set and new water pump.

Also included in our Mini’s file is a Best in Show award from the St Helens Classic Car Club dated April 2019, with this, we believe any restorative or restoration works were carried out prior to the award supported by parts invoices dating back to 2017/2016.

A beloved workhorse – Our 1974 Mini 850 Van is ready to be won!

The panel van has been a welcomed workhorse for generations. With its utilitarian practicality, the panel van has done everything from moving house to making memories.

Now Bridge Classic Cars wants you to relive and relove those memories with our gorgeous 1974 Mini 850 Van.

With its beautiful dark green paintwork, over a simple but elegant black interior, our Mini panel van was subjected to a full nut and bolt restoration between 2000 and 2013 commissioned by an adoring previous owner. Included in the cars history file are invoices which relate to the cars restoration where no stone was left unturned in bringing this classic Mini back to life.

Powered by a small and simple 848cc 4-cylinder engine and 4 speed manual gearbox, this little Mini has a practical and easy-going charm.

Originally classed as a commercial vehicle, many of these panel van sadly do not exist today due to being in constant heavy use in their younger years, but this one has been cherished since its early days it would seem with the odometer showing just a shade over 28,000 miles, which is believed to be original, since it was first registered in Devon on the 1st of June 1974.

Winners Circle – Winners of the 1997 Rover Mini Come to Meet Their Car

We welcomed David and Bonnie to the Bridge Classic Cars Suffolk HQ to meet their new classic! The 1997 Rover Mini.

We couldn’t wait to see their reaction to meeting the bright red Mini in the flesh and it didn’t disappoint.

We want to wish them both many happy and safe miles with the little Mini and can’t wait to see the adventures it goes on.

Behind the Scenes – East Coast Mini Club Visit & Live Draw of the 1993 Rover Mini and 2012 Mercedes Benz SLK250 CDI

Over the bank holiday weekend, the Bridge Classic Cars team welcomed East Coast Mini Club to our restoration workshops in Suffolk.

The club were doing their annual charity run with this year’s run being in aid of the Addenbrookes Charitable Trust which had helped 2 of its members in need of their expert help. So, to help out the East Coast Mini club raised nearly £900 through a raffle and an auction to help their Transport Unit with fundraising.

After the meet was done, a few of the members stayed around for the live draw of our 1993 Rover Mini and 2012 Mercedes SLK250CDI. A few of the members even had tickets for the Mini!

Hayley and Freddie gave everyone joining in on the live stream a look around our competition building and the beautiful classics that we have in. We were also joined by our friend Simon’s all-electric Mini which has recently starred in a Discovery Channel series and appeared in a video with YouTuber PetrolPed.

But it was then time to find out who the very lucky new owners of the 1993 Rover Mini and 2012 Mercedes SLK250 CDI. Both had completely sold out before the draw and the Mercedes actually sold out nearly a week before its scheduled draw!

First, was the Mercedes. The pre-published entry list was checked and Hayley set the numbers in the Random Number Generator. And, with one single click, we found who the winner was. Number 3204 belonging to Andy Wells.

Then the car everyone in the room was waiting for. The 1993 Rover Mini.

As the entry list was checked and the number generator reset, the anticipation built. With a few words of good luck and a single click, it was done. The new owner of the Mini was Jake Lees with ticket number 614.

Sealed – Replacing the Gearbox Oil Seal on the 1990 Mini 30

Bridge Classic Cars have been working on the 1990 Mini 30 ahead of its upcoming draw.

During its inspection, our in-house restoration technicians noted a small leak coming from underneath the car. After looking into it further, it was found to be coming from the gearbox oil seal. So, a new seal was ordered along with new spark plugs and ignition leads to make sure this very special little Mini was running perfectly.

Our technician Paul carefully removed the old seal from the gearbox and then cleaned up the entire area in preparation to install the new seal in place. Once the new piece had been put into place in the gearbox, it was reinspected and all was ok on the report.

So, with everything completed on the 1990 Mini 30, it’s nearly time to find out who the lucky new winner will be!

Some of you may remember this stunning Cherry Red Mini from last year when Courtney Barker won it through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions, well she’s offered it back to us and now it could be yours!

This is a limited edition Austin Mini 30, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the legendary Mini. The car is in amazing condition which is why the team at Bridge Classic Cars Competitions bought it back when it was offered to us. The car had a full respray and sympathetic interior restoration by our in-house restoration teams.

The car is well known around the area, having spent much of its life in Southwold and then in Ipswich with Courtney. It also did the rounds of almost every car show such as Stonham Barns as well as several appearances at our own meet-ups. Since August 2020, the car has only covered an additional 3,000 miles meaning this 31-year-old pocket rocket has got just 66074 miles showing on the clock.
