Congratulations to the winner of our 1979 Ford Escort RS2000, Mike Hill
We delivered the RS2000 up to Mike in Manchester today. Our covered vehicle transporter kept the RS nice and clean on its journey. Mike won with ticket number 1676.
We have three stunning cars live on the website, two of them will be won next week!
💚 1957 Triumph TR3 (Won in just 8 days time! 640 tickets left)
This week we’ve giving a warm welcome to some fantastic classics. Arriving in the workshop we’ve had a real mix, from a 1967 Jaguar MKII to a 1972 MG Midget.
First up, our beautiful 1951 MGTD joined the workshop this week to begin recommissioning work. She’s already had a service, a brake check, her electrics have been tended to and she’s even been treated to a thorough polish. We’re already in love with this stunning car!
Next in was our break-in survivor, our lovely 1967 Jaguar MKII. This pretty classic was broken into and is with us for back seat repair and some minor dent damage.
It’s such a shame to see a classic car purposefully damaged in this way. But, we have just the team to put her right and return her to her former glory.
Our brilliant little 1972 MG Midget came to us this week with a puncture and a cracked distributor cap. The team are going to get her repaired and back on the road in no time.
Our exquisite 1989 Jaguar XJRS TWR arrived this week for a full survey to see what work needs to be carried out by our expert classic car technicians. We’ll be keeping you posted with what we uncover in the next few weeks.
Another Jaguar arrival at the workshop this week, was our gorgeous 1963 Jaguar SS100. With us for a couple of light repairs noted on her latest MOT. We’ll be sure to have her driving smoothly once more.
So there you have it, a warm welcome to all our new arrivals this week. We’re now bursting at the seams with classic cars! There’ll be a busy few weeks ahead trying to get this beauties fixed up and back to their owners.
Two beautiful classic Jaguars have arrived at the Bridge Classic Cars Workshop today. Both very different cars, but both undeniably special examples.
Firstly we have the 1963 Jaguar SS100. In for a couple of minor repairs highlighted by a MOT test. This lovely classic has already received a new steering boot and a new air filter. To fit within the SS100’s engine bay, Paul has modified the filter slightly to perfectly fit. Superb work, Paul!
The 2nd Jaguar of the day is this rare XJRS TWR. Featuring a Jaguar 6.0l V12 Engine, this big cat certainly can roar.
The XJRS is in the workshop for a general health check, as well as investigating some unwanted noises coming from the underside of the car.
The TWR in this Jaguar’s name stands for Tom Walkinshaw Racing. TWR were a race team and engineering firm founded in 1976 by touring car racer Tom Walkinshaw.
TWR became associated with Jaguar in 1982. Partnering with the successful entry of the Jaguar XJS into the European Touring Car Championship.
TWR and Jaguar formed JaguarSport initially to build tuned versions of Jaguar road-cars, such as this gorgeous XJRS. They also produced upgraded versions of the XJ220 and XJR-15 sports cars at a new facility at Bloxham. By 1994, JaguarSport had been liquidated, with the Bloxham factory being overhauled for production of Aston Martin automobiles.
Take a look at the full galleries below of these stunning Jaguars.

The 1953 Ford Transit van that arrived with us yesterday has spent the morning with our expert classic car technician Pete.
After five years of back and forth trips to mechanics, this unique Taunus Transit still wouldn’t fire up.
But, after a thorough diagnosis and via process of elimination, the talented team here at Bridge have solved the mystery.
“The magic eye was not fitted correctly on the distributor,” explained Pete. “It needed pushing down further so the rotor arm could be fitted correctly. The firing order was also wrong, so we’ve sorted that”.
Pete and Tamas have since done several workshop tests, including taking her out for a test run and she’s now driving well. There’s only a few more final checks to make before we can give her the all clear, but what a amazing turnaround – great work team!

Our 1967 Austin Mini 850 is very close to paint preparation stage now. With the majority of the new panels and repair work having now been completed Darren will look at final stages of re-shaping. When he is happy the car will move on to paint preparation before we apply the new Surf blue and Old English white.
Chris and Dave have joined forces for the latest Jensen task.
Within the fibreglass bonnet moulding are channels. Within these channels should be metal bars used to strengthen the structure.
These are missing on many of the Jensen’s we see so whilst Chris has been working on the fibreglass Dave has been assisting with the fabrication of new metalwork.
Wow, what a beauty! Our completed Jaguar E-Type restoration project was visited by it’s owner at the Bridge Classic Cars workshop. Upon seeing this lovely Jaguar, he couldn’t resist but to take her out for a drive.
Seeing clients of ours happy makes the hundreds of hours spent on our restorations well worth while. We took a look back at how this restoration began and what a transformation this Jaguar has undertaken.
This Jaguar E-Type is now ready to be enjoyed for many a happy mile to come.
This lovely 1975 MG B was restored by us here at Bridge Classic Cars last year. It’s been brought in by its owner to fix some running issues with the engine. Upon inspection Ady assessed that the running issues were caused by low fuel pump pressure which would occur after a few miles of driving.
A new fuel pump has been fitted to remedy this issue. Whilst the car was up in the air we’ve noticed a small oil leak coming from the drivers side driveshaft. One of the Inner collars had cracked, allowing oil to break through the seal. We’ve since fixed this by replacing the collar and reassembling the rear hub assembly, ready for this MG B to be taken back out onto the open road.
Over the weekend Gordon and Craig were busy picking up two fantastic, unusual classics.
Both cars will go up for sale in our showroom. The Studebaker Champion will be available for sale in its current, beautiful condition. The Amphicar concours restoration is almost complete and will be available for purchase upon it’s completion.
Here is a little bit of information about the Stuedebaker;
Studebaker entered the automotive business in 1902 with electric vehicles and in 1904 with gasoline vehicles, all sold under the name “Studebaker Automobile Company”. Until 1911, its automotive division operated in partnership with the Garford Company of Elyria, Ohio, and after 1909 with the E-M-F Company. The first gasoline automobiles to be fully manufactured by Studebaker were marketed in August 1912. Over the next 50 years, the company established a reputation for good quality and reliability.

Paul has continued work on our 1960 MG A Chassis. Paul is working on the MGA floor panels now. He’s used the old wood to measure up a template before fabricating new wooden floor panels. He’s repaired the front chassis section and prepared it for paintwork.
As pictured the rear section of the driveshaft tunnel has severely deteriorated and will wither need repair or replacing.
After many hours work from Bridge Classic Cars’ engine specialist, Ady. It is now time for the engine to be dropped onto the chassis. Ady and Pete have positioned the rebuilt engine back into the 1944 Morris C8. Pete is now completing the reassembly before we fire her back into life.
On Saturday 4th January 2020 we opened the doors of Bridge Classic Cars Hangar showroom for an exclusive car club coffee morning.
Until now, not many people were aware of this side to Bridge Classic Cars but our hangar is located within the grounds of the iconic RAF Bentwaters in Rendlesham. The private showroom is not often open to the general public but with the new year brings new ideas and it was a wonderful opportunity to open the doors, enjoy the open space and for like-minded automotive enthusiasts to get together to talk all things cars…with some bike and plane conversations going on too!
The sun was shining brightly for us on the day, which saw classics, vintage, sports and supercars from all over the region getting together to enjoy a thoroughly brilliant free event.
And we received some amazing feedback too so we are sure to be hosting many more events like this in 2020…
David Frost: “Roadtrip to Bridge classic cars open day at Bentwaters, was a nice variety of cars.A few of the 100 FMEG were there.Free refreshments as well,a great turnout for January.”
Robert Brooks: “Great day out nice to see some of my friends well organised.”

Chris and Elaine Bone: “Enjoyed the visit, great turnout, ours needs a wash now!”
Mary and Bill: “Lovely morning with fellow petrol heads, we really enjoyed it.”
Peter Mould: “I wanted to thank you for putting on today’s event. It was great to see an array of vehicles from many different decades.”
Ted: “Can I thank you for putting on the open morning, there were some great cars there, & the coffee & croissants where nice too.”

The boot and doors off our Triumph TR6 complete restoration are now being prepared in the paint shop by Darren. They have been ground back to bare metal and had the badly corroded areas removed. From there, we’ve welded in fresh metal which will be ground back and sanded down to a smooth finish.
Coming into our workshop today is this lovely little Fiat 850 Sport Spider. We hope to have the little 850cc engine firing soon. Then we will inspect the vehicle an prepare for sale. There is no doubting this 850 is in need of restorative works to get it fit for road use once more.
Progress continues on our TVR Grantura. Most of the tailor-made interior has been refitted now. Grilles and vents have also been fabricated and added to the car. It really is in the finer details that sees a restoration truly come to life.
We had a wonderful time visiting Denis Welch Motorsport. They’ve carried out work on the Jensen 493 Engine that will soon be transplanted back into the freshly painted chassis. It’s now been mounted to the fully refurbished gearbox. It was truly a pleasure to visit the wonderful workshop!

What a lovely surprise at Bridge Classic Cars today. This lovely hamper was generously gifted to us from SNG Barratt. We would like to say a huge thank you to Pete, Alex and the entire SNG Barratt team for their fantastic service. They are absolutely the best in the game when it comes to Jaguar Parts for our restoration projects.
We look forward to continuing working with you through the New Year, breathing a fresh lease of life into Jaguars for many years to come. Merry Christmas!
Owner of this lovely Ford Escort RS2000, Paul, popped down to the Bridge Classic Cars Pettistree workshop last week. We’re so close now to completing work on this lovely car. We can’t wait to see it back on the road and being enjoyed once more. Was lovely to see you, Paul!

We were recently approached by a good friend of Bridge Classic Cars to source a V12 Series Three Jaguar E-Type. We found this lovely example for sale from US classic car sales company, Beverly Hills Car Club.
Although the vehicle looks in fine condition, this E-Type will need to undergo a full restoration to bring it up to our exceedingly high standards. We can’t wait to see this stunning car arrive on British soil.
To keep up to date with this project and our other restoration projects here at Bridge Classic Cars, keep an eye on the ‘Projects’ section of our website.
