We recently said goodbye to Princess Grey. Off to be restored by its enthusiastic new owner who will love and cherish this car.
Princess Grey is a 1959 Jensen 541R which we stored with the prospect of one day being commissioned to build her for a new owner and keep another 541 safe for prosperity and generations to come. That is still going to happen but just not with us.
However, it is really exciting to see it going off to the new owner and we look forward to seeing updates on the car.

With all the hard work put into the 1998 Honda Integra Type R by the Bridge Classic Cars in-house restoration teams, we had to make sure every element of the car was in the best possible condition.
The wheels are no exception. The wheels are finished in matching Championship White but have seen better days. Thankfully, they can be refurbished. With care and attention, the wheels will be back soon and looking as good if not better than when the DC2 rolled out of the showroom back in 1998.

REC has launched the 901. A beautiful timepiece inspired by the early Porsche 911 (901) so much so that part of it is actually made from the metal of salvaged Porsche 911.
901 is the reference to the early cars created by Porsche before the dispute with Peugeot over the use of the 901 name. After this, Porsche changed the new cars name to 911. The REC 901’s dials are a reference to the early dials that lay in the minimal and iconic dashboard of the early Porsches. The rain had torn down throughout the night before. By the morning, the autumn air was fresh and moving as we pulled the 1984 BMW 635CSi out of the hanger at RAF Bentwaters.
This iconic 1980s example of a German grand tourer is stunning. It drives like a dream with its automatic gearbox and light handling. Charlotte began the drive around the filming area of the airbase to let the car slowly come up to temperature, once everything was just right. We began to work on the film that you can see right here!
The E24 6 series is a legendary sportscar. It was the pinacle of luxury and performance for the Bavarian brand when first launched and all the way during its decade long production run.
As part of our photoshoots, there are a series of static photos on the base. Even stood still, the car looked like it was doing 100MPH such is the timeless styling of the E24.

Tamas and Paul, our in-house restoration technicians have been busy refitting the wiring harness, accessories, engine and gearbox back into the 1998 Honda Integra Type R that is in at Bridge Classic Cars.
Using reference photos and the catalogued parts from the dismantling of the car, the whole engine bay now looks as good as new.
Next stages for the Integra will be to get the vehicle back together before final check overs. Expect to see more here on the Bridge Classic Cars blog.
The freshly painted 1998 Honda Integra Type R is out of the paint booth after its sympathetic respray here at Bridge Classic Cars. Now it’s time for our in-house restoration technicians to begin putting everything back together.
As you may have seen previously, the engine bay on the Integra Type R has been cleaned up and resprayed in its factory Championship White. Now the paint has cured it’s time to refit all the systems under the bonnet. Tom and Paul have been working on getting all the pipework and components back to their original locations while also taking extreme care as to not undo any of the hard work done by our in-house painters.
Recently, Bridge Classic Cars were asked to come and view a nearby classic collection including several different Ford Model T’s along with a Chevrolet and a Maxwell.
These were part of a collection by a local gentleman who sadly could not care for the cars and the hundreds if not thousands of pieces of memorabilia and spare parts.
After viewing the collection, we gave the family some advice on what to do with the parts and we hope they all go to good homes.

Coming soon to the Bridge Classic Cars workshop is this stunning 1969 Mercedes Benz 250SE Automatic W111 Coupe!
This will be making its way into us for assessment ahead of the plans that are being considered for its future. This is an incredible example of the W111 and 1960s German luxury which Mercedes were renowned for from its earliest days all the way to the present day.

It’s crucial with a restoration to take note of what you take off the car. Our in-house restoration technician Mauro is fanatical about this. So, the job of tearing down the front axle of the 1955 Aston Martin DB2/4 that we have at Bridge Classic Cars naturally fell to him.
Bolt by bolt, piece by piece Mauro has gone through the entire assembly on the ’50s sportscar. Carefully and meticulously Mauro labelled and catalogued each piece ready for assessment and refurbishment.

The 1973 MGB Roadster we currently have in at Bridge Classic Cars for work has been having its cooling system gone through.
Our in-house restoration technician Ady last time worked on removing the water pump and the old radiator from this iconic little sportscar. New parts were put on order and have now been fitted into the front of the bright red MG B.
A completely new water pump has been fitted to make sure that when it is eventually driven, the temperatures stay nice and safe. Working alongside the new water pump is the replacement radiator.
This was crucial in the cooling system as the old one had seen better days and on the advice of our in-house technician, a new one was fitted for peace of mind.

Hopefully, you will have all seen the news by now but if not, Bridge Classic Cars have got a fantastic 1966 Sunbeam Alpine in with us in our workshop. Yes, the same as Sean Connery drove in the James Bond film Dr No. This is going to be a competition car which one lucky winner will be drawn.
This honest and really rather lovely 60s sports car also has an incredibly rare hardtop! so no matter the weather it can be enjoyed by its future owner. At Bridge Classic Cars, our in-house teams will assess the car soon to come up with a plan to get the Sunbeam to a stage where it can be instantly used and enjoyed.

The MG B Roadster. A staple of British Sportscars for decades. Beloved by many for its small, lightweight feel but its solid reliability.
This particular 1973 MG B Roadster has come into Bridge Classic Cars for recommissioning. It will be assessed by each of our in-house restorations teams to determine what needs to be done and in what order.
It’s lovely to see a car that is still so original but has led an honest and enjoyed life in its previous years. But, the time has come for this iconic sportscar to be bought back to its former glory.

The last time we showed you the assessment done on the wonderful 1990 Range Rover CSK that we currently have in at Bridge Classic Cars for sympathetic restoration.
After the assessment was done by our technician Mauro, the first port of call was to try and get the 3.9 litre V8 to fire into life. From the assessment, we could see all of the soft fuel lines had cracked and were too brittle to attempt to be pressurised. For that, Mauro fitted up a testbed fuel system to ensure the Range Rover would get all the fuel it could need.
As mentioned in a previous blog post, the starter motor had failed. Before rigging up the fuel, Mauro installed the brand new starter motor to the engine to make sure the big V8 would turn over well enough to be fired.
With the testbed system in place, it was a case of adding the fuel, the air and spark into the chambers. Success. The now 31-year-old V8 roared into life inside of our workshop.
Next on the list of mechanical checks for the CSK while it’s here at Bridge Classic Cars, is to see if the Range Rover will move under its own power…

There is always a winner with our live draws. On Thursday the 23rd of September that just happened to be Ian Spellman and Rob Richardson.
The team at Bridge Classic Cars arrived as the sun slowly began its drop towards the horizon to prep the location ready for the 7 PM start. The scene was set for a very lucky night for two unknowing people…
First drawn on the live stream was Ian with the winning ticket of 4851 which secured him the stunning 2003 Vauxhall VX220. In a strange quirk of fate, when Charlotte rang Ian to tell him the good news he was actually halfway through his tea! Not a bad start to a Thursday evening for Ian.
Next was the draw of the stunning 1958 Triumph TR3A. As the random number generator whizzed around, you could feel the excitement build. One of 4999 possibilities, each one ultimately changing someone’s automotive life. Lady luck decided that night to choose Rob Richardson to be the next custodian of this wonderful British Sportscar. As part of our draws, we do try to phone the lucky winner. Unfortunately, Rob didn’t answer the phone. But, when he does check his voicemail he is in for quite the surprise…
Also revealed during the live draw was more information about some of the upcoming competition cars. Namely the 1983 Ford Capri and the 1989 TVR S2 2.9 V6. The Capri is available to enter right now over Bridge Classic Cars Competitions (remember, someone, has to win these icons) so head over and enter now!

The steelwork is finally starting to go up on our new extension!
The extension to our restoration workshop at Pettistree is definitely on the move now. Part of the steel frame that forms the skeleton of the new space has been firmly placed into the ground.
This extension will allow us more space to restore more incredible classics and keep others in their best condition.

We were featured in the November-December 2020 issue of Jensen’s Owners Club Magazine for a Jensen 541S we restored a few years back for Ronald Everaert who recently wrote a piece for the magazine about his Jensen.
One of our favourite parts of restoring cars is being able to see the owners enjoy their pride and joys again, ready to make more memories in. It’s particularly lovely to hear from them via photos and articles such as this!
