Our 1967 Sunbeam Tiger has been in the workshop for a service. Jon has fitted a new oil filter, refitted the sump bung and torqued it correctly to 30Nm, then removed the wheels to inspect the brakes. While working through the underside, Jon greased the prop shaft and suspension components, and confirmed that both the axle and gearbox oil levels were satisfactory, with the battery and spare wheel in the boot also found to be in good order.

Attention then turned to the braking system, where Jon cleaned the components, reassembled the rear brakes and carried out the necessary adjustments before refitting the wheels. He then stripped and fitted new track rod end rubbers, securing them carefully with lockwire, before refitting the front wheels and lowering the car back to the ground. Once settled, Jon torqued the wheel nuts to 55 lb/ft, noting that they should be rechecked after 100 miles. He completed the process with a comprehensive nut and bolt check, ensuring all rear springs and U-bolts were correctly tightened, leaving everything secure and ready for continued use.
