Jonn diagnosed our 2002 Rover 75 with a completely separated top mount on the nearside rear shock absorber. To repair, he began by stripping the trims in the rear offside area to gain access to the top mount, then removed the shock absorber. The top mount was detached, and the bump stops were transferred to the new shock before fitting a new top mount and securing it in place. The offside rear trims were then refitted.
Work then continued on the nearside rear shock absorber. As before, Jonn stripped the nearside rear trim to access the top mount, removed the shock, and transferred the bump stops to the new unit. The replacement shock was then installed and secured. All boot trims were refitted, though there was some difficulty as several clips were either missing or broken. Although the exact match for the panel clips was not available, suitable alternatives were used where possible to secure the trims.
Jonn refitted the parcel shelf, locked the rear seats in the upright position, and plugged in all seatbelts to confirm correct operation. A road test was carried out, with all systems functioning correctly.
