The 1991 Jaguar XJS project is coming into the final phase of getting this V12 GT car back on the road for its excited owner. Since coming out of paint and body department here at the Bridge Classic Cars restoration HQ, it has been handed back over to the workshop team to finish off the last few jobs on the work order.
‘Remove air filter and inspect wiring to offside oxygen sensor. Check conne tions. Check 12v supply from fuel pump relay when ignition turned on. OK. Tighten exhaust downpipes and inspect wiring from underneath. Nothing obvious. Check resistance of sensor and found it out of scope order new sensor. Adjust auxiliary belts. Tape up windscreen around rubber seal, for wind noise test. Adjust both door strikers and ring both doors in. Get off ramp and refit air filter and prep for road test.’
‘Carry out road test to fuel station. Drives better on way back with new fuel in. Wind noise now less but still some above 40mph. Return to workshop and unmask screen. John fixed window and heated seat issues.’
