The Bridge Classic Cars team have been working through the preperation of the 1989 TVR Tasmin for its new owner. Our technician Jon, has carried out his usual PDI on the car before it was taken to a local specialist for new tyres.

Carry out road test to fuel station and fill up. Return to workshop and notice car has a coolant leak. Get on ramp and found sensor fallen out of radiator. Found sensor and seal is still on rad. Fit sensor and attempt to fit clamp but sensor somehow seems to have fallen. Drain coolant. Strip and remove rad but it’s not straight forward. Remove fan. Remove cowling but can’t get out of opening.

‘Remove oil cooler and let hang. Remove rad side brackets from car. Now allows cowling and rad to be removed. Remove rad. Shake and get sensor and seal out of hole. Fit seal and apply sealer to sensor and refit. Refit clamp and secure with cable tie. Refit rad and components in reverse order.’

‘Connect hoses and secure. Reconnect fan. Filter coolant to remove debris.’
