Another familiar face at the Bridge Classic Cars restoration workshops is this beautiful 1955 Austin Healey 100 BN1. We previously saw the car last year for some repairs and maintenance, but the car has arrived back at HQ for our technician Rob to carry on with some repairs and investigations on the classic British sportscar.
‘Remove radiator and send for overhaul. Remove water pump and replace with new one. Fit water tap to pump to enable the heater to be isolated. Service brakes including replacing leaking RH rear wheel cylinder. Remove gearbox tunnel to investigate fumes entering the cockpit. The tunnel is barely fastened down, has no seal and the RH flange isn’t wide enough. Extend the flange and fit rivnuts to the chassis so that the tunnel can be bolted down.’
Gearbox tunnel retrimmed and refitted. New dynamo bracket fitted and dynamo back on. New plug leads made, water tap fitted and radiator shroud bolted back in.
