As part of all of our competition preparations, our technician Jon goes through each and every car with a fine tooth comb. Here’s what Jon has been upto on the TVR:

”Drain oil amd filter and leave to drain while I replace wheel bearing. Strip offside front hub and remove complete with disc. Heat up carrier bolts and remove. Knock out old bearing races and clean hub. Press in new bearing races. Grease new bearings and fit. Press in hub flange and torque newnut to 350nm. Refit huband secure. Remove caliper sliders and rubbers. Remove rust from caliper and refit rubbers. Lube sliders and refit caliper. Refit wheel.”

”Refit and tighten sump bung. Fit new oil filter. Check offside front hub tight and found top pinch bolt not clamping fully even though it’s tight. Remove wheel and tighten pinch nolt as much as I can and refit wheel to check p,ay. OK now, no play. Torque up wheel andrefit centre cap. Fill with oil and run up. Top up as required . Fit new clutch pedal rubber. Take outside and fill with synthetic fuel. Carry out road test. Steering out to left. Check tracking and adjust steering.Test around yard to check steering g straight. Return to workshop and adjust. Repeat process twice more and then test up the road. Closer now slightly out going towards Wickham and spot on coming back. OK for now, recheck when it gets a PDI.”
