Repairing the Chrome on the 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4

Our classic car restoration technician Ben has been working hard on getting all of the brightwork together, catalogued and then beginning to repair the pieces individually. Some parts have has to be remade in brass to be sent off for chroming.

‘Repairing dents in the brass and crash damage such as the crumpled bonnet trim also soldering in a new thread. Filling the dents that cannot be removed on the tail light mounts and soldering new nuts to the back. Making the missing brass catches for the seats, these will go to chrome. Also straightening the rear numberplate surround.’
