Pete has carried out a thorough check of fluids, tyre pressures, and lights on our 1929 Dodge DA Tourer. While inspecting the headlamps, he found their operation to be sporadic, with the lights switching on and off when tapped at the lamp units.

After removing and checking all connections and bulb fitments, he discovered that the driver’s side bulb receiving wire solder caps had collapsed, and the bulb holder had a broken joint. This was causing power leaks across the lamps, resulting in inconsistent brightness between the left and right sides. He re-soldered the caps and repaired the bulb holder to restore proper function.

Additionally, he polished the driver’s headlamp bowl to remove the tarnish that was distorting the light beam and giving the lamp a dim appearance when off. With all issues addressed, the headlamps are now operating correctly.
