Refitting the Engine to the 1969 Audi L 72PS

The Bridge Classic Cars team have been working on getting the engine and gearbox back into the 1969 Audi L 72PS after the issue with the clutch. After a replacement was sourced, Will got the new clutch ready.

‘Tighten clutch bolts down and mark up, fit release bearing onto shaft with clips, fit gearbox to engine with help, move car onto lift, get engine into position under car and lower car onto engine and bring engine up to align mounts and bolts mounts in with John’s help, get engine fully into position and fit front fan and pulley to engine, Remove front engine mount and paint, plum in water lines and and plug in plugs on top of engine, plum inn fuel lines and clutch cable, plum ancillaries in, Fit painted engine mount to car, fit front left brake caliper and disc and pads and fit drive shaft to it, get brake lines into correct position, and make bracket fit brake lines better, Plug in wiring and tension ancillarie belt, fit oil filter, fit gear selection mechanisms, fit right front brake disc, caliper and pads then fit the drive shaft, plug in left over wiring, and neaten up, make sure all brake lines are tightened and bleed up brakes, tourqe up drive shaft bolts, go through gear selector mechanism and fit properly with new retaining clip, do up wheel speed sensor, Get anti roll bar into correct position and do up, fit exhaust to car, set up clutch free play, and attach clutch cable onto top of pedal, set the auxilary belt tension, add water the thr car, run car up and drive out of workshop to see if everything works,’
