The fabrication team here at the Bridge Classic Cars restoration workshops have been working on refining areas of the 1970 Aston Martin DBS Vantage. Greg, one of our fabricators and technicians, has been cleaning up some smaller temporary repairs which in the refit were doscovered. So, the car has been moved back into our fabrication shop for Greg to refine and retouch the repairs.

Meanwhile, our technician Ben has been working in the finishing room to get many of the trims and pieces ready for the cars reassembly.

‘I have been working through some of the jobs in the engine bay, power steering system, the belts and adjusters. Along with restoring parts and ordering parts. The heater valve has needed a bracket to be make up for it as its an aftermarket part that’s only available. The heater system which the ducts are actuated by the vacuum of the engine need new tubing so I have been running this through from the cockpit to the engine bay. As well as silencing the ducts with foam pad and taking any slack out of the flaps then greasing. The exhaust sealing faces needed cleaning so I carefully sorted that. Also whilst I have the ground down and smoothed the rear brake ducts of the welds down the seams to make them look as close to factory as possible.’
