Redoing the Suspension on the 1969 Audi L 72PS

The Bridge Classic Cars restoration team have been pushing ahead with the 1969 Audi L 72PS project here at our Suffolk HQ. Our technician Will has gone through the suspension on the classic German saloon car and renewed various bushes.

‘Go through bushes and check what needs changing, disconnect anti roll bar mount from wishbone, remove anti roll bar drop link remove old bushes from wishbone and drop link, replace bushes on drop link, discover wish one bushes missing go through with John how to release torsoin bar to get at wishbone bushes Release torsoin bars on both sides and disconnect steering arms and wishbones to hubs remove where old center of bush, press in new bushes’

‘Fit new bushes into wishbones that attach to torsoin bar arms on both sides, sand clean and prep torsoin bar arms and wishbones, paint parts in satin black, fit torsoin bar arms to car. Re fit wish bones both sides, fit on to torsoin bar arms as well, fit Hubs ont bottom and top wishbones, fit steering arms. Fit hub nut to right hand side and tourqe down, split pin steering arms and and hub nuts, clean threads on wheels bolts, refit anti roll bar drop links with new bushes, drill out bushes to fit anti roll bar, push onto anti roll bar. refit retaining springs on rear drums, refit rear drums and wheel bearing do up hub nuts and split pin Refit wheels to car and tourqe down, refit drivers seat, get car on ground, take up slack on main torsoin bar bolts.’
