Rebuilding the carburettors and the batteries on the 1972 MGB Roadster

Will, one of our amazing technicians, has been working his way through the carburettors and the batteries on the 1972 MGB Roadster here at the Bridge Classic Cars Suffolk restoration workshop.

‘Remove air filters, remove throttle and choke cables off carbs, remove carbs from car, clean up spacing blocks and replace gaskets behind spacing blocks, strip down right hand carb take float bowl off, remove float and pin clean up and replace seals and rubbers and pin, replace float hight pin, remove top hat, replace gaskets and seals clean up and scotch bright piston, polish top hat, begin to strip down left carb, remove and throttle linkage and throttle butterfly replace seals and clean up butterfly, remove choke spring and replace seals and clean up both carbs. Finish stripping down left hand carb take float bowl off, remove float and pin clean up and replace seals and rubbers and pin, replace float hight pin, remove top hat, replace gaskets and seals clean up and scotch bright piston, polish top hat, wire wheel and clean up throttle linkage and throttle springs replace gaskets and fit carbs onto car. Refit throttle and choke cables and refit air filters and replace gasket with fresh gaskets, set up to bleed clutch still not pulling fluid through, remove slave cylinder and try pull through clutch line pull out disintegrated eternals of Flexi line, clean up spilt brake fluid, fit new batteries into car modify battery straps, cut and drill battery straps, fit batteries clean up around car.’
