Our restoration technician Jon has been working his magic on our (Craig’s) 1987 Mercedes Benz 500SL. The classic German GT car has been progressing around other restoration projects in our finishing room but this time Jon is beginning to get some of the trim back onto the car – like the rear bumper.
Jon has got all of the parts, pieces and hardware to clean up and repaint where needed. The rear valance of the 500SL is made up of 3 individual pieces which were carefully assembled and carefully offered up to the car with the bolts loosely fitted. The top piece, which also is 3 separate pieces was assembled and again loosely fitted up to the car. From there, Jon could begin to tighten up the bolts and adjust the bumper assembly to make sure it fits up correctly.
